Job Title: Dispatcher (Logistics & Transportation)

Location: Indianapolis, IN

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (Overtime required as needed)

Pay Rate: $ 22- $24.00/hour



Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Dispatcher to coordinate daily transportation and delivery operations. This role is responsible for scheduling routes, assigning drivers, and monitoring shipments to ensure timely and compliant deliveries. The Dispatcher will serve as the primary point of contact for drivers, internal teams, and customers, resolving operational issues in real time and maintaining accurate dispatch documentation.


Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate freight recovery and tendering at local airports
  • Break down incoming freight upon return to the facility
  • Monitor drivers to ensure on-time pickups and deliveries
  • Prepare packaging materials and cold chain supplies as needed
  • Maintain cold chain integrity for all temperature-sensitive shipments
  • Track clearance status and update internal/customer systems with accurate notes
  • Communicate pickup/delivery instructions clearly to drivers and ensure compliance
  • Monitor “on-hold” shipments and outbound flight schedules
  • Manage inbound/outbound communications via phone and email (drivers, customer service, partner offices)
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, regulatory requirements, and SOPs
  • Support leadership with daily operational tasks as required
  • Maintain training records, certifications, and complete required assessments
  • Safely handle and store freight at airport and office locations
  • Report operational issues, delays, or complaints promptly to management
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
  • Ability to work overtime and flexible hours when required


Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 2–3 years of experience in logistics, dispatch, transportation, or related field
  • Strong computer proficiency
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong sense of urgency and problem-solving ability
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs safely
  • Professional demeanor and team-oriented attitude
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules, including occasional weekends/evenings


Work Environment

  • Office and warehouse-based work depending on operational needs
  • Occasional work in refrigerated/freezer environments (protective gear provided)
  • May involve working inside trucks during loading and unloading operations
