We are currently seeking a motivated individual for the entry-level position of Airport Operations Control Center Dispatcher, at the Lee County Port Authority. This role is a vital link in the Airport Operations Control Center (AOCC), providing real-time, common operational communication and coordination services for airport police, fire, and emergency responders.

Minimum Requirements- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have been a lawful permanent resident for the past 10 consecutive years
- A valid Florida driver’s license within 30 days ofhire
- A High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Must successfully pass a criminal background screening, drug test, psychological evaluation,Criminal History Record Check (CHRC), TSA Security Threat Assessment, and meet the requirements to obtain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge, through the SIDA training process, prior to employment
- Must obtain and maintain an FBI Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) clearance within three (3) months of hire
- Must successfully complete the Florida 911 Public Safety Telecommunicator (PST) course, state exam, and certification within six (6) months of hire
- Completion of CPR and AED certification within six (6) months of hire
- Availability to work an 84-hour bi-weekly work schedule (twelve-hour shifts), and must be able to work various and rotating shifts (nights, weekends, holidays, and relief shifts) 24/7
Key Responsibilities- Receive, evaluate, and prioritize incoming emergency and non-emergency calls for service, including police, fire, medical, and security incidents
- Dispatch appropriate emergency response personnel and resources in accordance with established protocols and Operating Instructions (OIs)
- Operates various computer systems and programs, including the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system console and associated Records Management System (RMS) sources
- Queries, communicates, conveys and enters a variety of information relating to law enforcement activities using the Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS)
- Efficiently uses all communication systems to include phone network, 800 MHz radios, cell phones, terminal paging, and various computer-based emergency notification platforms
- Operates the Emergency Notification System (ENS) as directed and approved by supervisor or airport leadership
- Provides flight information, pages, general information, and inquiries to both the public and tenants as requested
- Monitors, tests, controls/operates airport-wide fire alarm systems
- One (1) year of aviation/airport experience or emergency call-taking/dispatch experience preferred
- Completion of the State of Florida's Certified Telecommunicator course preferred
EmergencyResponse/Recovery ActivitiesLee County Port Authority personnel are designated by tier levels and may be called upon to assist with an emergency or unforeseen event at any time. Employees may be called to fulfill duties that are outside their normal scope of work to assist in resuming airport operations and flight activities.
