About the Role

TEKsystems is seeking a skilled Low Voltage / Structured Cabling Dispatch Technician to support infrastructure projects across customer environments. This role focuses on the installation, service, maintenance, and remediation of structured cabling systems, including copper and fiber. The ideal candidate takes pride in high-quality installations, strong customer service, and working independently in the field.


Key Responsibilities
  • Install, service, maintain, repair, and modify low-voltage cabling systems, including Cat5, Cat6, and fiber optic cabling
  • Perform physical installation and removal of structured cabling components, cabinets, racks, and pathway systems (including cable tray)
  • Pull, terminate, label, test, and document cabling according to industry standards
  • Move and install racks, equipment, and related communications infrastructure materials
  • Travel to customer locations to perform service and support on network equipment as needed
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and construction documentation
  • Provide professional, customer-focused service while working independently or as part of a team
  • Participate in after-hours, night, or weekend work when required
Required Qualifications
  • Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent hands-on experience
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience installing, servicing, and maintaining low-voltage cabling systems (Cat3, Cat5, Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber)
  • Proven ability to install, terminate, and test:
    • Twisted pair cabling
    • Coax
    • Power-limited tray cable
    • Single-mode and multi-mode fiber
  • Strong understanding of telecom, data, security, and wireless cabling terminology
  • Experience reading blueprints and electrical/mechanical drawings
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to safely operate company vehicles
Preferred Qualifications
  • Industry or manufacturer certifications (BICSI, Panduit, CommScope, Corning, Leviton, Ortronics)
  • Familiarity with industry standards (BICSI, ANSI, EIA/TIA, NEC)
  • Healthcare-related certifications (infection control, safety, bloodborne pathogens)
  • Experience using tools such as ServiceNow
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs and occasionally up to 100 lbs
  • Strong visual acuity, including color vision and depth perception
  • Ability to clearly communicate verbally and audibly
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, reach, and use hands; occasionally required to climb, balance, kneel, crouch, or stoop

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Atlanta, GA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr.
