What You Will Be Doing:

  • You will play a vital role in strengthening Alaska’s public health by identifying and reaching out to individuals at risk of HIV and STIs, ensuring they receive the timely services necessary to protect community health.
  • Provide direct, compassionate support to unhoused individuals and high-risk populations through field visits, transportation assistance, and face-to-face engagement.
  • Serve as a critical link between patients and the medical community, partnering with healthcare providers to ensure every Alaskan has access to essential testing and treatment.
  • Maintain accurate confidential surveillance records that drive statewide prevention efforts and protect patient privacy.
  • Notifying individuals of potential exposure to HIV and other STI’s through both telephone outreach and confidential in-person interactions.

Special Notice:

  • This position requires occasional travel within the State (generally one trip lasting 3-7 days, potentially occurring biannually).
  • Requires either experience in or willingness to learn phlebotomy skills for field testing.
  • A valid Driver's License is required at the time of appointment.

    2. HIPAA Training
    3. Venipuncture Training
