We are seeking an experienced Water and Wastewater Engineer with strong technical backgrounds in water resources, stormwater, and wastewater systems. Ideal candidates will have expertise in biological nutrient removal technologies, hydraulics, sludge conditioning and disposal, treatment, storage, and distribution projects, and civil/site design. This position is seated in our Melville, NY office.

Whether conducting monthly sampling, completing due diligence evaluations, or designing chemical storage systems, we deliver responsive services that make environments work and play better.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead projects utilizing technical knowledge and experience to develop the project team's overall capabilities, including supervising and supporting the work of others and mentors junior level engineer & design/drafting technical staff.
- Manages projects from planning to design and construction of water/wastewater distribution and conveyance systems, including pipelines, pump stations, storage, and end-of-pipe treatment facilities, and coordinates execution of projects with other disciplines.
- Leads the development of construction documents/specifications and handles engineering services during construction.
- Meets established budgets and delivery schedules for each assignment; for project/task scope, schedule, and budget.
- Develops medium to large planning and design projects from inception to completion.
- Performs detailed engineering calculations & analysis and utilizes design software to solve complex issues.
Education & Qualifications
- 10 to 15 years' experience in the planning, design, and construction of municipal Water/Wastewater.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering or related field of study.
- P.E. required. PMP is a plus.
- Experience preparing, reviewing, and approving project drawings, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates.
- Experience in process design, treatment plant upgrades, and pump station design.
- Client relationship skills: including preparation and development of proposals and client management experience with a successful record of accomplishment, delivering a variety of engineering projects that meet or exceed the expectations of the client.
- Active in technical societies and trade organizations associated with Water/Wastewater (AWWA, WEF, ASCE, NGWA, etc.).
- Ability to train and mentor junior-level staff.
- Successful track record of proposal writing and development.
