Description

OVERVIEW:

The person who holds this position will work collaboratively with physician leaders and their administrative partner(s) in the appropriate Departments, the Emory hospitals, and the Emory marketing/physician liaison groups to ensure alignment with system goals and the financial and operational success of program initiatives.

Responsible for developing, gaining approval for, and successfully managing business plans (with appropriate institutional support) that position the signature program in the immediate service area and surrounding market in a manner consistent with the missions and market development strategies of Emory Healthcare.

Accountabilities for this position include:

  • strategic plan development, physician referral and network analysis and growth-goal setting, clinical program coordination, and participation in relationship building with the multi-specialty team of providers who deliver specific Program initiatives.
  • The position is responsible for determining measurable key metrics, developing business cases based on these metrics and financial projections for each of the initiated plans.
  • Develop and implement program-specific business plans and annual operating plans for each focus area (including goals, objectives, and action steps with assignment of metrics and key accountable people), and assure alignment with the annual budgets of each section and hospital.
  • Day-to-day priority setting and oversight for this role comes from the administrators for the Sections included in the Program; strategic and program direction is provided by the physician leaders of Sections included in the Program, supported by their administrative partners.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Three-to-five years of experience in strategic program planning, business plan development, financial analysis, operations improvement, and team/project management.
  • Proven experience in effectively collaborating among stakeholders and shared services departments across multiple sections and facilities and specialties; proven ability to promote a system-oriented, patient-and-family-centered culture that is team oriented and that respects the skill sets and opinions of all faculty and staff.
  • Ability to provide and represent accurate and timely projections, assessments, analysis, reports, plans, and solutions to leadership.
  • Proficiency in communicating effectively and representing Emory with a high degree of social facility to obtain cooperation, support, and business from a broad range of internal and external constituents.
  • Highly organized and forward thinking with a proven record of leadership in addressing complex business issues. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 1-10 lbs 0-33% of the work day (occasionally), negligible 34-66% of the workday (frequently), negligible 67-100% of the workday (constantly). Lifting 10 lbs max, carrying of small articles such as dockets, ledgers, files, small tools, occasional standing & walking, frequent sitting, close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks. ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: Factors affecting environment conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks. Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure, Bio-hazardous waste. chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors, communicable diseases, electrical shock, floor surfaces, hot/cold temperatures, indoor/outdoor conditions, latex, lighting patient care/handling injuries, radiation, shift work, travel may be required, use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
