Salary Range: $130K - $195K/Year.
Relocation: Case by Case Basis
Incentive Bonus: Up To 17.5%
Job Summary:
The Director of Surgical Services ensures high quality, patient-centered care through oversight of the overall function and staffing of the unit(s)/department(s) in addition to forecasting, planning, and budget monitoring. The Director fosters a culture of accountability and collaboration and supports the development and implementation of strategies, policies, and procedures in support of facility objectives.
Major Responsibilities:
Quality
- Cultivates evidence-based clinical practices to improve patient safety, quality outcomes, accountability, and adherence to standards of care.
- Enhances patient throughput, care coordination, interdisciplinary collaboration, and nursing operations to ensure efficient, high-quality patient-centered care.
People
- Fosters a culture aligned with organizational vision, mission, and values while promoting employee recognition, engagement, and support.
- Identifies training and development needs, provides coaching, and strengthens talent recruitment, retention, and workforce performance.
Growth
- Collaborates with leadership and physicians to enhance existing services and develop innovative healthcare offerings.
- Identifies growth opportunities, stakeholder engagement strategies, and technological advancements to increase service volume and differentiation.
Finance
- Participates in budgeting, staffing, and resource planning while monitoring financial performance and addressing performance gaps.
- Manages labor productivity, operating expenses, supply utilization, and cost-saving initiatives to ensure efficient patient care delivery.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing – required
- Master's Degree Preferred
Experience:
- Min 3+ years Director of Surgical Services experience within the acute care setting Required.
