A premier ultra-luxury resort set along one of the Caribbean's most coveted coastlines is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Pool & Beach to lead its Pool, Beach, and Watersports operations. This is an exceptional opportunity for a senior hospitality leader to shape the guest experience across a world-class outdoor portfolio.


About the Role


The Director of Pool & Beach provides strategic and operational leadership across all pool, beach, and watersports facilities. As a senior leader and brand ambassador, this individual sets the tone for service excellence, team performance, and guest satisfaction — balancing long-term strategic vision with an active, hands-on presence on the ground.

This role is as much about inspiring a team in the sand as it is about managing budgets and driving departmental strategy.


Key Responsibilities


Strategic & Operational Leadership

  • Provide strategic direction and day-to-day oversight of all pool, beach, and watersports operations.
  • Develop and execute departmental goals aligned with the resort's broader business strategy.
  • Monitor service standards, operational procedures, and guest satisfaction metrics, implementing continuous improvement initiatives as needed.
  • Oversee scheduling, seasonal programming, and staffing strategies in line with occupancy and revenue forecasts.
  • Ensure all recreational areas are consistently clean, safe, well-maintained, and brand-compliant.
  • Oversee the setup and execution of beach events, private functions, wellness activations, and group experiences.
  • Conduct and document daily facility and equipment inspections.
  • Maintain effective inventory management and procurement controls.


Guest Experience & Service Excellence

  • Champion and uphold luxury service standards, ensuring consistent, personalised delivery across all touchpoints.
  • Lead by example in anticipatory, guest-first service.
  • Proactively address guest concerns and implement effective service recovery strategies.
  • Drive innovation in recreational programming and guest experiences.
  • Ensure seamless coordination of watersports activities, equipment rentals, and billing processes.


Financial & Commercial Management

  • Develop and manage the departmental budget, with full accountability for cost control and financial performance.
  • Identify and drive revenue opportunities through programming, activations, and upselling.
  • Monitor payroll, productivity, and operational costs to maximise profitability.
  • Oversee asset management and contribute to capital planning.


People Leadership & Development

  • Build, lead, and inspire a high-performing team of approximately 30 employees, including an Assistant Manager, Supervisors, and Team Leads.
  • Oversee recruitment in collaboration with the People & Culture team.
  • Develop succession plans and individual growth pathways for team members.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and maintain accountability at all levels.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure consistent training programmes, including annual retraining and safety certifications.


Watersports & Safety

  • Ensure all watersports operations comply with relevant safety, regulatory, and compliance standards.
  • Oversee regular inspections of equipment and facilities.
  • Maintain current First Aid and CPR certification; ensure team-wide compliance.
  • Ensure team readiness to respond to water-related emergencies.


Interdepartmental Collaboration & Compliance

  • Maintain strong working relationships with F&B, Engineering, Housekeeping, Security, Events, and People & Culture teams.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance and capital improvement projects.
  • Ensure full compliance with all Health & Safety regulations, risk assessments, and emergency procedures.
  • Report and document hazards, incidents, and accidents promptly.


Candidate Profile

  • Minimum 5–7 years of progressive leadership experience in luxury hospitality.
  • Minimum 3–5 years in a senior management role overseeing Pool, Beach, Recreation, or Resort Operations.
  • Proven track record managing large teams and departmental budgets.
  • Strong background in beachfront, watersports, or resort recreational operations preferred.
  • F&B Managers with multi-outlet management experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Caribbean experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Forbes and LQA standards strongly preferred.
  • Executive presence with strong coaching, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Financially astute with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Physically active and comfortable in an outdoor, beachfront working environment.
  • Single status preferred; all candidates will be considered.


Compensation & Benefits

💰 Base Salary

USD $54,000 per annum + service charge and other benefits to be shared by the recruiter.
