CPS, part of the Optum family, is partnering with Hendry Regional Medical Center, a Joint Commission‑accredited 25‑bed critical access hospital, to hire a Director of Pharmacy. This is a leadership opportunity with full operational ownership and high visibility across hospital leadership.

As Director of Pharmacy, you’ll lead all aspects of pharmacy services for the hospital, ensuring safe, compliant, and high‑quality medication use. You’ll collaborate closely with executive leadership while leveraging CPS expertise in clinical practice, operations, technology, and regulatory compliance.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Provide strategic and operational leadership across inpatient and outpatient pharmacy services
- Ensure safe, effective, and evidence‑based medication use and formulary management
- Lead, develop, and retain pharmacy staff (pharmacists, technicians, leaders)
- Maintain compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, USP, BOP, and state/federal regulations
- Oversee pharmacy financial performance, budgeting, and cost‑containment initiatives
- Drive performance improvement and innovation using data and best practices
What You Bring to the Role
- Proven hospital pharmacy leadership experience in a critical access or acute care hospital environment
- Strong knowledge of regulatory, accreditation, and compliance requirements
- Ability to partner effectively with executive leadership and interdisciplinary teams
- A hands‑on leadership style with accountability for operations, people, and outcomes
- Comfort leading in a lean, high‑impact environment where your decisions matter
Required Qualifications
- ACPE‑accredited Pharmacy degree (BS or PharmD)
- Active Florida Pharmacist license in good standing
- Active Florida Consultant Pharmacist license (or ability to obtain by start date)
- Minimum 2 years of pharmacy management experience or completion of a PGY‑2 residency
