About the Role
We are hiring a Director of Operations to take ownership of how the business runs and grow into a true second-in-command role.
This is not a maintenance role.
This is a build-and-enforce role.
You will step into a business with moving parts, inconsistency, and opportunity—and bring structure, clarity, and discipline to it.
You will work directly with the CEO to turn vision into execution and ensure the company runs on systems—not workarounds.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and standardize operational workflows across Group, Medicare, and Individual
- Establish clear ownership, decision rights, and accountability across the team
- Implement KPI scorecards and enforce consistent follow-through
- Ensure systems (CRM, workflow tools, documentation) are used consistently
- Identify operational breakdowns and fix them at the root
- Align operations with growth, service, and retention priorities
- Drive cross-functional coordination across sales, service, and operations
If execution slips, you correct it.
If standards are ignored, you address it.
If ownership is unclear, you clarify it.
What Success Looks Like
Within 12 months:
- Execution is consistent and predictable
- Renewals and key workflows are completed on time
- Revenue leakage is reduced
- Every role operates from defined KPIs
- Underperformance is addressed early and directly
- CEO involvement in day-to-day operations is significantly reduced
- Systems replace workarounds
Required Experience
- 5+ years in operations, business operations, or operations management
- Experience improving or building workflows, systems, or processes
- Experience managing people, projects, or cross-functional initiatives
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing environment
- Experience in insurance, healthcare, or professional services is a plus

- Assess workflows, systems, and ownership gaps
- Identify and fix immediate operational breakdowns
- Establish KPI visibility and accountability
- Begin enforcing standards across teams
Work Environment
- Onsite role in San Antonio, TX
- High-accountability, fast-paced environment
- Direct collaboration with CEO and leadership team
