The Director of Marketing and Community Engagement leads Bevill State Community College’s strategic marketing, communications, and community engagement efforts. This position enhances institutional visibility, supports enrollment and advancement goals, and strengthens the College’s relationships throughout its multi-campus service area. The Director oversees marketing, advertising, media relations, digital presence, public communications, and dual enrollment while promoting a consistent, mission-focused brand identity. This role works closely with college leadership to ensure that outreach, public information, and community initiatives reflect Bevill State’s values and commitment to excellence.

Salary: Appropriate placement on Bevill State Community Colleges Local Salary Schedule: C3, Rank: 01 $79,199 - $103,055

Work Hours:Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., Friday 7:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

1. Develop and implement comprehensive marketing, public relations, and community engagement strategies aligned with institutional priorities and enrollment goals.

2. Ensure consistent brand identity and unified messaging across all platforms, publications, and outreach activities.

3. Plan, direct, and assess marketing and advertising campaigns that promote awareness, recruitment, and community connection.

4. Oversee the College’s website and social media platforms, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and alignment with institutional standards and engagement goals.

5. Direct photography, videography, and creative content development for marketing materials, publications, and promotional initiatives.

6. Build and maintain relationships with community, civic, business, and educational partners to advance the College’s mission and visibility throughout the service area.

7. Coordinate press releases, media interviews, public statements, and serve as the College spokesperson when appropriate.

8. Develop and manage internal communication channels to promote consistent information flow, engagement, and alignment across all campuses and departments.

9. Support and promote College events, official functions, and special initiatives through planning, communication, and community coordination.

10. Lead crisis communication efforts and manage sensitive public information to protect and strengthen the College’s reputation.

11. Monitor and analyze marketing and communication performance metrics to guide data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.

12. Develop and publish an annual community impact report or similar publication to highlight institutional achievements and partnerships.

13. Prepare and manage annual budgets for marketing, communications, and digital operations, ensuring effective allocation of resources.

14. Provide strategic leadership for the college’s dual enrollment efforts, including the development, promotion, and continuous improvement of programs in partnership with local high schools, ensuring alignment with institutional enrollment goals and community workforce needs.

15. Direct and coordinate marketing and community engagement initiatives that support dual enrollment growth, including targeted outreach campaigns, relationship-building with K–12 partners, and oversight of communication strategies that increase awareness and access.

16. Supervise and manage Recruiting and Outreach Specialists, establishing performance expectations, guiding recruitment strategies, and ensuring their efforts effectively support the college’s enrollment goals.

17. Work closely with the President, Vice Presidents, and division leaders to align communications and outreach strategies with College-wide goals.

18. Represent the College at community events, civic meetings, and professional organizations while upholding high standards of ethics, professionalism, and confidentiality.

19. Perform other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

A minimum of a master's degree from an accredited institution is required. A minimum of fifteen (15) years of progressively responsible experience in education, marketing, public relations, or community engagement, preferably in higher educationrequired.
