We are looking for a Director of Manufacturing to lead a high-output, state-of-the-art facility in Indianapolis. If you have a strong background in metal-based manufacturing, industrial operations, or complex assembly—whether that’s machining, casting, fabrication, or assembly of mechanical products—your leadership is what we value most.


As the Director of Manufacturing, you will drive Manufacturing Operations for a newly expanded facility. You are responsible for scaling production and ensuring that Throughput, Safety, and Quality exceed global standards. You will lead a high-performance, non-union team through a period of significant growth and technical advancement.


Core Responsibilities

  • Operational Excellence: Provide strategic direction for all plant operations, fostering a culture of safety and high performance.
  • Production & Engineering: Oversee the integration of highly automated equipment and collaborate with manufacturing engineering teams on new launches.
  • Quality Systems: Maintain rigorous standards including IATF-16949 / ISO-9000 and utilize APQP/8D for root-cause analysis.
  • Continuous Improvement: Champion Lean Manufacturing and 5S initiatives to optimize flow and eliminate waste.
  • Project Launch: Manage Capital Projects and facility budgets to meet increasing OEM demand.


Requirements

  • Experience: 10–20+ years of progressive leadership in Operations Management or Plant Leadership and Management - background in Automotive Tier 1 or other high-volume manufacturing is a huge plus.
  • Metal Expertise: Understanding of Metal Parts, Product Assembly, Gears, Steel, Fabrication (Processes such as Stamping or Forging or similar experiences are a plus, but not required).
  • Leadership Style: A "lead-from-the-floor" approach—equally comfortable in the boardroom presenting Strategic Plans and on the shop floor implementing 5S and other processes.
  • Technical Growth: Experience leading teams through automation upgrades and complex equipment installs.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred, but a proven track record of operational success is the primary requirement.
