PURPOSE
The Director of Human Resources and Administration is responsible for leading and overseeing the development and execution of HR and administrative strategies that support the organization’s mission, values, and long-term goals. This role encompasses strategic leadership in talent acquisition, organizational development, employee relations, compensation and benefits, performance management, and compliance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Collaborate with executive leadership to define the organization’s long-term mission and goals. Identify ways to support this mission through talent management.
- Lead, plan, develop, implement, and manage policies and procedures for all areas of the human resources function, including staffing, compensation, benefits, learning, employee relations, and compliance with human resources policies and procedures. Ensure consistency of human resources functions within the organization.
- Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture that promotes equity, respect, and collaboration.
- Administer and innovate programs and policies that align and support the organization’s goals, positively engage the workforce, and advance organizational effectiveness.
- Develop and implement strategies for attracting and retaining top talent. Consult and partner with the Executive Directors to develop a workforce plan and effective organizational structure.
- Collaborate with finance and executive leadership on compensation structures, annual performance reviews, incentive programs, and benefits strategy.
- Manage organizational policies, procedures, and internal controls related to HR and administration.
- Provide consultations to senior leaders regarding employee relations, corrective actions, and the resolution of performance issues. Resolve disputes and grievances between employees and managers.
- Serve as a main point of contact for initiating and successfully onboarding new staff. Provide a comprehensive onboarding process for new staff as well as assistance with human resources and benefit concerns.
- Lead employee relations matters, including investigations, issue resolution, and corrective actions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or business administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience; minimum of five to seven years of progressive experience in human resources; knowledge and understanding of all applicable federal and state employment laws; and experience providing all aspects of human resources support for an organization, including organizational effectiveness, talent acquisition and retention, benefits, compensation and rewards, employee relations, and training and development.
- Five to seven years or more experience leading a high-performing team.
- Experience working in a multistate environment with a remote workforce.
- On-site 3 days weekly with the opportunity to work remote 2 days a week preferred.
- Compensation is $85,000 - $95,000 annually.
