Director of Facilities - Property Maintenance - Base Salary to 102k/year - Abilene, TX
Our client, a well-established property management organization with a long-standing presence and strong community focus, is seeking a Director of Facilities to lead maintenance operations at a residential community in Abilene, TX.
This role is responsible for overseeing all property maintenance functions, leading a team of technicians, and ensuring the physical asset is maintained to high standards through effective planning, execution, and resident-focused service delivery.
Responsibilities:
Oversee all daily maintenance operations including work orders, preventative maintenance, and repair activities across the property
Lead, manage, and develop a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring productivity, accountability, and quality of work
Perform regular property and building inspections to identify maintenance needs and ensure asset preservation
Manage and prioritize service requests and work orders, ensuring timely completion and high resident satisfaction
Plan and coordinate preventative maintenance programs and longer-term capital improvement projects
Oversee maintenance related to building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general repairs
Manage department budget including cost tracking, vendor coordination, and expense control
Ensure compliance with safety standards, OSHA guidelines, and applicable local/state regulations
Partner with property management and leadership to improve operational efficiency and service delivery
Maintain documentation and reporting related to maintenance activities, inspections, and compliance
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
5+ years of facilities or property maintenance leadership experience
Hands-on maintenance background (not solely administrative or operations-focused)
Experience managing maintenance teams and daily service operations
Experience overseeing budgeting, cost control, or financial performance
Working knowledge of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, general maintenance)
Experience with work order systems, preventative maintenance programs, or CMMS platforms
Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards (OSHA or similar)
Compensation:
Base salary to 102k/year
