Director of Facilities - Property Maintenance - Base Salary to 102k/year - Abilene, TX

  • Our client, a well-established property management organization with a long-standing presence and strong community focus, is seeking a Director of Facilities to lead maintenance operations at a residential community in Abilene, TX.
  • This role is responsible for overseeing all property maintenance functions, leading a team of technicians, and ensuring the physical asset is maintained to high standards through effective planning, execution, and resident-focused service delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all daily maintenance operations including work orders, preventative maintenance, and repair activities across the property
  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring productivity, accountability, and quality of work
  • Perform regular property and building inspections to identify maintenance needs and ensure asset preservation
  • Manage and prioritize service requests and work orders, ensuring timely completion and high resident satisfaction
  • Plan and coordinate preventative maintenance programs and longer-term capital improvement projects
  • Oversee maintenance related to building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general repairs
  • Manage department budget including cost tracking, vendor coordination, and expense control
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, OSHA guidelines, and applicable local/state regulations
  • Partner with property management and leadership to improve operational efficiency and service delivery
  • Maintain documentation and reporting related to maintenance activities, inspections, and compliance

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years of facilities or property maintenance leadership experience
  • Hands-on maintenance background (not solely administrative or operations-focused)
  • Experience managing maintenance teams and daily service operations
  • Experience overseeing budgeting, cost control, or financial performance
  • Working knowledge of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, general maintenance)
  • Experience with work order systems, preventative maintenance programs, or CMMS platforms
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards (OSHA or similar)

Compensation:
