JOB SUMMARY:
Execute the business unit strategy through the creation and use of marketing strategies and commercialization plans. The marketing director oversees the creation and execution of the marketing strategy through co-leadership of the business unit through close collaboration with cross-functional peers. Reports to the Vice President of Marketing.
ESSENTIAL/PRIMARY DUTIES:
• Leads the development and execution of the business unit strategic action plans to meet or exceed net sales, gross margin, operating income, and market share targets.
• Designs and executes go-to-market strategies for new product introductions to meet or exceed net sales, gross margin, and market share targets.
• Identifies market and competitive trends, developing and refining relevant business value propositions to match these trends as well as developing marketing strategies and programs to drive growth.
• Understands needs of core customers as well as emerging customers who have the potential for future growth by spending time in the field with customers and distribution partners.
• Drives a customer centric marketing approach across the wider marketing team.
• Leverages customer and market knowledge and analysis to identify new growth opportunities.
• Develops and executes strategies, value proposition, product positioning and marketing programs to differentiate our product from competition and drive growth.
• Leverages internal and external resources to deliver compelling integrated marketing programs that include online and offline collateral, advertising, PR, sales tool kits and training.
• Develops a process to gather and communicate appropriate competitive intelligence to drive strategy development and education to the field on marketplace dynamics.
• Collaborates closely with the sales force and distribution partners to achieve goals.
SECONDARY DUTIES:
• Ensures alignment between cross-functional leadership peer groups, especially downstream marketing, upstream marketing, and sales.
• Attends and presents at association meetings, trade shows, channel partner meetings, commercial sales meetings, and regional sales meetings.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration or related field. At least 10 years of marketing experience, and 6+ years of leadership experience. Medical or dental industry background preferred. Master's degree preferred.
