Job Description:
We are seeking a highly technical, hands-on Director of Data Architecture to lead the design, implementation, and evolution of its enterprise data platform. This role will serve as the senior technical authority for data architecture, modeling, and analytics, with a strong focus on Oracle Energy & Water platforms and Microsoft Fabric. This position is intentionally technical and delivery-oriented. The successful candidate will design data models, build architectures, write SQL, and leverage modern tooling (including AI-assisted development) to accelerate delivery. The role is ideal for a senior data architect or technical data lead who thrives in complex, regulated utility environments and wants to directly shape the organization’s future data capabilities.
Required Skills & Experience:
• 8+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or enterprise data modeling
• Proven utilities industry experience
• Hands-on experience with Oracle Energy & Water platforms, including:
o CCS / CC&B
o OFS
o WACS
• Experience integrating ERP and PPM data into enterprise analytical platforms
• Strong expertise in dimensional modeling and enterprise data warehouse design
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, including:
o Lakehouse
o Warehouse
o Data Factory
o OneLake
o Power BI semantic models
• Advanced SQL and data transformation skills
• Demonstrated ability to lead architecture decisions while remaining deeply technical
Nice to Have Skills & Experience:
• Experience with Delta Lake and medallion architecture (Bronze / Silver / Gold)
• Azure data platform experience
• Power BI architecture and performance optimization experience
• Experience implementing data governance, data quality, and metadata management frameworks
• Familiarity with AI assisted data development and analytics workflows
Compensation:
$200,000-$215,000 per year annual salary.
