MULTIHOUSE

Director of Communications

Full-Time  |  In-Office |  Reports to: CEO / COO | Salary: $80,000

About Multihouse

Multihouse is a forward-thinking organization committed to excellence, creativity, and meaningful impact. We believe in the power of compelling storytelling and authentic communication to build lasting relationships with our audiences, partners, and community.

Role Overview

We are seeking an exceptional Director of Communications to lead and elevate every aspect of how Multihouse communicates with the world. This is a senior leadership role for a creative powerhouse who brings together mastery of copywriting, marketing strategy, public relations, and design sensibility under one vision. You will be the voice and visual steward of our brand and our clients’ brands, driving narratives that inspire, inform, and engage. This is not a purely managerial role. We are looking for someone who is genuinely hands-on. A leader who is just as comfortable rolling up their sleeves to build an email campaign or schedule content as they are presenting a strategy to the executive team. You thrive in a lean, dynamic environment and take pride in owning both vision and execution.

Key Responsibilities:

Copywriting & Content Strategy

  • Own and craft compelling copy across all channels: website, email campaigns, social media, press releases, executive communications, and more.
  • Develop and maintain a consistent brand voice and tone that reflects Multihouse's mission and values.
  • Lead content calendars and ensure all written output meets the highest standards of clarity, creativity, and impact.

Marketing & Campaign Leadership

  • Develop and execute integrated marketing communications strategies that drive brand awareness and audience engagement.
  • Partner cross-functionally with product, sales, and leadership teams to align messaging with business objectives.
  • Measure and report on campaign performance, continually optimizing based on data and insights.

Public Relations

  • Build and manage relationships with media outlets, journalists, and industry influencers to secure strategic press coverage.
  • Develop and execute PR strategies that amplify Multihouse's reputation and thought leadership.
  • Serve as a spokesperson and prepare executive leadership for media appearances and public engagements.
  • Manage crisis communications and protect brand integrity across all platforms.

Design & Visual Identity

  • Partner closely with design team members to ensure visual and written communications are cohesive and on-brand.
  • Bring a strong eye for design to review and guide all external-facing materials, from digital assets to print collateral.
  • Champion brand standards and ensure consistency across all touchpoints.

Hands-On Execution & Tools

  • Directly build, deploy, and optimize email marketing campaigns using platforms such as Mailchimp, Klaviyo, HubSpot, or equivalent.
  • Manage content scheduling and publishing across social media and web channels using tools like Later, Buffer, Hootsuite, or similar.
  • Maintain and update website content via CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Wix, or similar).
  • Create and manage basic design assets for digital and print use: proficiency in Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or equivalent is required.
  • Track and report on performance metrics using tools like Google Analytics, social insights dashboards, or marketing analytics platforms.
  • Be willing to learn new tools and platforms as our tech stack evolves: a growth mindset is essential.

Team & Department Leadership

  • Build, manage, and mentor a high-performing communications team.
  • Oversee agency and vendor relationships, ensuring quality and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Set departmental goals, manage budgets, and deliver measurable results.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in communications, marketing, public relations, or an equivalent role.
  • Exceptional copywriting and storytelling skills with a portfolio that demonstrates range and excellence.
  • Proven track record in managing PR strategy and securing meaningful media coverage.
  • Strong marketing acumen with experience leading multi-channel campaigns.
  • Hands-on experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Klaviyo, HubSpot) and content scheduling tools.
  • Comfortable working directly in a CMS to publish and update content.
  • A refined eye for design with the ability to effectively collaborate with and guide creative teams.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills; experience managing or mentoring others.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Willingness to learn new tools, platforms, and processes as the role and organization evolve.
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field preferred.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Experience working at the intersection of brand, content, and growth.
  • Familiarity with digital advertising and social media strategy.
  • Ability to balance big-picture strategy with hands-on execution.
  • Passion for Multihouse's mission and a genuine curiosity about our industry.
