We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Co-Manufacturing to lead and optimize a growing external manufacturing network within a fast-paced food production environment. This role will play a critical part in driving operational excellence, capacity growth, product commercialization, and food safety performance across multiple bakery manufacturing partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute co-manufacturing strategies supporting growth, capacity planning, and operational performance
  • Identify, negotiate, onboard, and manage co-manufacturing partners
  • Lead operational performance including scheduling, service levels, delivery, yields, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with FDA, HACCP, allergen, and GFSI food safety standards
  • Partner cross-functionally with Quality, R&D, Supply Chain, Sales, and Operations teams
  • Support commercialization, product launches, and production start-ups
  • Manage budgets, tolling agreements, forecasting, inventory, and cost-saving initiatives
  • Establish KPIs, scorecards, and business reviews to drive accountability and performance


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or related field
  • 10+ years of food manufacturing experience is required
  • 3+ years of bakery/bread manufacturing experience is required
  • 3+ years of experience managing co-manufacturing, contract manufacturing, or external supply partners
  • Strong knowledge of bakery operations, food safety systems, and manufacturing performance metrics
  • Proven leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to travel 50–70% (all domestic)


Preferred Qualifications

  • AIB certification
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or TPM certification
  • Experience with ERP, MES, and S&OP systems
