We are seeking a hands-on Director of AI Strategy & Technology Operations to help define and execute the firm’s enterprise AI strategy and workflow transformation initiatives. This individual will identify high-value opportunities across client acquisition, deal execution, research, operations, and internal/portfolio company operations, while implementing practical AI solutions that improve productivity, efficiency, and decision-making across the firm.
This is a highly cross-functional role that combines AI strategy, workflow optimization, project management, and technical implementation. The ideal candidate understands how to translate business problems into scalable AI-enabled workflows and can work effectively with bankers, operations teams, IT, compliance, and external vendors.
The Director of AI Strategy & Technology Operations will play a key role in helping the firm responsibly adopt and integrate AI technologies that drive measurable business value while maintaining strong governance, security, and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the firm’s AI strategy, identifying and prioritizing high-impact AI use cases across origination, deal execution, research, marketing, compliance, and both internal and portfolio company operations
- Design and implement AI-enabled workflows, tools, and integrations that improve productivity and business performance
- Partner with internal and external developers to prototype and deploy AI-powered applications and solutions
- Build web applications that integrate AI platforms and APIs including OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and open-source models
- Oversee implementation of AI capabilities including chat interfaces, document analysis, workflow automation, content generation, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG)
- Establish governance, security, and responsible AI practices in partnership with IT, legal, compliance, and leadership teams
- Evaluate AI vendors, manage implementation projects, and drive user adoption through training and change management
- Monitor AI performance, business impact, adoption, and define KPI’s and success metrics for AI, including ROI, while continuously refining solutions and workflows
Qualifications:
Required
- 5+ years of experience in AI implementation, workflow transformation, product management, software development, technology strategy, or related fields
- Experience leading or implementing AI initiatives in business environments
- Strong understanding of AI technologies including LLMs, workflow automation, and AI productivity tools
- Technical fluency sufficient to collaborate with developers, prototype solutions, and evaluate technical tradeoffs
- Familiarity with Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, APIs, and modern AI platforms
- Strong communication, project management, and stakeholder management skills
Preferred
- Experience in investment banking, private equity, consulting, fintech, or professional services
- Experience with enterprise AI tools, vector databases, RAG, and AI governance practices
- Experience working in regulated or compliance-sensitive environments
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Business, Data Science, or a related field preferred, but not required
- Practical experience building and deploying AI-enabled solutions is highly valued
- Portfolio, project examples, or demonstrated AI implementation experience is a strong plus
