Job Summary:

The Admissions Director is responsible for overseeing the referral, intake, and admission process to drive census growth and ensure a smooth transition for new residents. This role works closely with hospitals, case managers, and the internal interdisciplinary team to coordinate admissions while maintaining a strong focus on customer service, compliance, and occupancy goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full admissions process, including referral review, clinical and financial screening, and acceptance decisions
  • Build and maintain relationships with hospitals, case managers, physicians, and community partners to generate referrals
  • Coordinate and facilitate admissions, ensuring a seamless transition for residents and families
  • Verify insurance coverage, benefits, and payer sources (Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care, Private Pay)
  • Collaborate with the IDT team to ensure appropriate placement and care planning upon admission
  • Track and report census, referral activity, and conversion metrics
  • Conduct facility tours for prospective residents and families
  • Ensure all admission documentation is completed accurately and in compliance with regulations
  • Participate in marketing and community outreach efforts to promote the facility
  • Work closely with leadership to develop and execute census growth strategies

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in admissions, marketing, or healthcare sales in a skilled nursing or healthcare setting preferred
  • Strong knowledge of payer sources, insurance verification, and admission criteria
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
