Citizens Capital Markets is looking for an experienced and highly driven Director/Managing Director to join its established High Yield Sales & Trading team. This role will build on an already strong foundation with a focus on continued growth.  The selected candidate will lead revenue generation from both secondary trading and primary issuance, manage senior-level client relationships, and work closely with syndicate, trading, research, and banking teams to provide institutional clients with toptier execution and insightful market perspectives.

Primary responsibilities include

  • Lead high yield credit sales and/or trading activities across institutional accounts, including asset managers, hedge funds, insurance companies, and other alternative investors.
  • Own and deepen senior‑level client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor on market conditions, relative value, and trade ideas across the high yield spectrum.
  • Partner closely with High Yield Syndicate and Investment Banking to support new issue execution, investor targeting, and aftermarket performance.
  • Drive revenue growth through active risk management, trade idea generation, and disciplined balance sheet deployment (as applicable).
  • Provide real‑time market color, pricing feedback, and liquidity insight to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Mentor and develop junior sales and trading professionals, fostering a collaborative, high‑performance culture.
  • Ensure strict adherence to regulatory, risk, and supervisory requirements, including all firm policies and attestations.

     

 

Qualifications, Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials

  • 10+ years of experience in High Yield Sales, Trading, or a closely related leveraged finance or credit markets role.
  • Deep understanding of high yield credit markets, including cash bonds, distressed, and relative value dynamics across sectors.
  • Established institutional client relationships within the high yield and leveraged credit investor community.
  • Demonstrated track record of revenue generation, client franchise development, and market credibility.
  • Strong commercial judgment with the ability to balance client needs, risk management, and firm objectives.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with comfort engaging at the CIO/PM level.
  • Series 7 and 63 licenses required (or ability to obtain promptly).

     

 

Hours & Work Schedule

  • Hours per Week: 40+
  • Work Schedule: Monday - Friday
