Position Summary:

The Director, Leadership Resources Operations serves as a key leadership role within the Leadership Resources team, responsible for translating organizational priorities into clear plans, disciplined execution, and measurable outcomes. Working closely with the Senior Vice President, this role helps ensure the team’s work remains aligned with NAR’s strategic plan, governance priorities, and operational goals.

The Director, Leadership Resources Operations provides strategic coordination across initiatives, oversees development and management of the team’s budget, and leads project and portfolio management for complex initiatives. This role also supports leadership governance work, including the Strategic Planning Committee, and helps ensure effective coordination across internal teams and external stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Strategic Execution & Planning:

  • Partner with the SVP to operationalize NAR’s strategic plan within the Leadership Resources portfolio.
  • Lead development and management of team work plans, timelines, and milestones to ensure strategic priorities are translated into clear, executable actions.
  • Monitor progress against priorities and recommend adjustments based on capacity, timing, and organizational needs.
  • Serve as co-staff executive to the Strategic Planning Committee, coordinating agenda development, meeting preparation, and follow-through on committee priorities and deliverables.
  • Develop, document, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for Leadership Resources processes to ensure clarity of roles, consistency in execution, and adherence to established workflows across the team.

Budget & Resource Management:

  • Own the Leadership Resources team budget, including development, tracking, forecasting, and variance management.
  • Coordinate budget planning across functional areas and ensure responsible stewardship of resources.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making and alignment with organizational priorities.

Project & Portfolio Management:

  • Provide project management oversight for complex, cross-functional initiatives within the Leadership Resources portfolio.
  • Identify risks, dependencies, and trade offs, and recommend course corrections when needed.
  • Establish governance structures, decision pathways, and accountability mechanisms to support effective execution of initiatives.

Leadership & Advisory Role:

  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to the SVP on key initiatives and priorities.
  • Prepare executive-level briefings, decision memos, and materials to support leadership discussions.
  • Represent Leadership Resources in internal meetings and cross-departmental initiatives, as delegated.
  • Collaborate with NAR’s Strategic Advisor to advance engagement with key industry stakeholders, including major brokerage firms, helping coordinate internal strategy and relationship-building efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Advanced degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., PMP) preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible experience in strategy, operations, project management, governance support, or related fields.
  • Experience managing complex initiatives and coordinating work across multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience working with volunteer leadership, boards, or governance bodies preferred.
  • Strong strategic thinking and execution skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and complex initiatives simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize information and provide clear recommendations to leadership.
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment
Compensation: $155,000-$170,000depending on office location

NAR provides comprehensive benefits including health/dental/vision insurance.
NAR is on a hybrid schedule and in the office 3 days a week.
