A Brief Overview

The Director, Investments Vendor Management is a senior practitioner and team lead responsible for managing day-to-day vendor management workflows across assigned investment technology and service providers, including vendor performance monitoring, contract and SLA administration, risk tracking, and financial management.


What you will do

Vendor Due Diligence & Selection Support

  • Translate business market data needs into sourcing strategies and oversee ongoing vendor performance, including monitoring SLA adherence, delivery quality, and issue resolution against contractual commitments

Contract & SLA Management

  • Lead contract renewals and negotiations, preparing commercial analysis, managing negotiation milestones and documentation, and securing favorable terms across pricing, service levels, and cost structures
  • Own contract and SLA administration for assigned Investment and market data vendors, including maintaining contract repositories, ensuring documentation is current and audit‑ready, tracking renewal timelines, and monitoring SLA compliance
  • Review vendor agreements to document contractual restrictions, usage rights, service obligations, and compliance considerations across the vendor portfolio
  • Analyze spend, usage, and contract data to identify opportunities to optimize vendor relationships and reduce the existing cost base, partnering with Legal, Procurement, and business stakeholders to ensure contracts accurately reflect negotiated terms and risk considerations across the full contracting lifecycle

Vendor Performance & Risk Monitoring

  • Manage day-to-day performance monitoring for assigned investment vendors; tracking SLA adherence, issue resolution timeliness, and delivery quality against contractual commitments
  • Produce regular vendor performance scorecards for assigned vendors; summarizing SLA status, open issues, and remediation progress for review
  • Escalate vendor performance breaches, delivery failures, and risk findings to the Executive Director with appropriate context and recommended remediation actions

Financial & Relationship Management

  • Own day-to-day vendor management for assigned investment vendors, including invoice review and approval, coordination with Finance/AP to ensure accurate and timely processing aligned to contract terms, tracking spend and usage, flagging budget variances, and serving as the primary contact for vendor account teams and issue escalation.

People Leadership & Cross Functional Engagement

  • Manage assigned investment vendors end-to-end, including tracking spend and usage, monitoring budget variances, serving as the primary day-to-day liaison to Global IT, Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Investment stakeholders, and representing the function in vendor governance forums and cross-functional working groups

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field AND
  • 7+ years hands on experience working within vendor management or procurement

OR

  • Masters degree AND
  • 5+ years hands on experience working within vendor management or procurement

Skills and Abilities

Required:

  • Experience in vendor management, technology procurement, or third-party risk within an insurance company, asset manager, reinsurer, or institutional investment organization
  • Demonstrated proficiency in vendor performance monitoring, contract and SLA administration, and third-party risk tracking across technology or managed service providers
  • Strong knowledge of vendor lifecycle management, performance monitoring, SLA governance, contract administration, and third-party risk tracking
  • Familiarity with investment technology platforms and the operational requirements that drive vendor selection and management decisions
  • Working knowledge of enterprise vendor risk frameworks and regulatory requirements for third-party relationships
  • Proficiency in contract tracking, SLA monitoring, and vendor performance reporting tools and methodologies
  • Commercially disciplined operational leader, takes full ownership of vendor performance and contract compliance within assigned coverage areas
  • Strong relationship manager, able to engage with vendor account teams, Legal, Risk, and investment business stakeholders professionally and escalate issues effectively
  • Detail-oriented and risk-aware, identifies vendor performance gaps, contract risks, and compliance issues proactively and drives them to resolution.
  • Effective people leader who develops junior team members and builds a culture of commercial rigor and third-party discipline

Compensation Range:

$107,060.00 - $159,390.00 Annual

Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location. In addition, RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles and some positions are eligible for participation in our long-term equity incentive plan. RGA also maintains a full range of health, retirement, and other employee benefits.
