UMHC - Radiology Admin - Plantation has an exciting opportunity for a Director, Imaging Services position. The incumbent directs, establishes, and plans the overall policies and goals for Imaging services at satellite location, and oversees all Imaging operations. Moreover, the Director, Imaging services recommends innovations in the practice and function of satellite Imaging to the AVP of Imaging Services and carries out mutually agreed upon programs. This employee also maintains contact with other department heads, medical staff, and nursing staff to determine needs, resolve problems, improve processes, and promote effectiveness. The Director reports to the AVP of Imaging Services and is ultimately responsible for the entire operation of the assigned Radiology Department.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Fiscal planning, personnel management, budget and audits, space planning and management, inventory control, general administration and assisting or acting on behalf of the Medical Directors in dealing with physician issues.
Accountable for a comprehensive and effective communication strategy within the radiology service that promotes a common understanding of the market, vision, strategy and accountabilities. Promotes a culture of two-way communication and creates opportunities for physician/staff participation.
Responsible for planning of future growth by assessing existing and future program needs, establishing priorities and identifying fiscal and human resources for development. Defining goals and objectives for radiology services regarding growth, fiscal plan, patient care, revenue and collections, staffing support requirements and policies.
Develops operational plans and provides regular reports to Hospital leadership on the status of radiology services in relationship to its annual operational plan.
Develops and implements a comprehensive plan to improve patient access to radiology services. Optimizes the patient flow assuring exceptional customer service and patient satisfaction.
Establishes policies to appropriately and effectively support high quality, highly satisfied and cost-effective patient care in accordance to University policies. Responsible for the overall efficient utilization of radiology services.
Responsible for standardizing policies and procedures throughout the radiology service line, cross training staff and establishing UHealth System approach to providing radiology services.
Works with all UHealth clinical sites to assure coordination of services, program development and optimal integration of services and inter-working relationships.
Initiates, manages and monitors appropriate interventions to ensure compliance with JACHO, inspections and all other licensure requirements. Reviews and acts on inspecting agencies’ reports,and keeps Hospital leadership informed. Ensures radiology services comply with all regulatory requirements, including obtaining and maintaining credentials, certifications, and accreditations needed for operations of the hospital.
Participates in planning, promoting and conducting organization wide performance improvement activities. Develops and directs performance improvement monitoring activities reporting progress toward achieving quality management goals.
Responsible for all radiology facility improvement and expansion projects; working with University facilities department, architects, and contractors.
Assures that all areas comply with HIPAA, safety and risk management requirements and activities.
Responsible for tracking and resolving all patient/physician/staff complaints in accordance with University policies.
Fiscal/ Financial Management
Fiscal planning is to be incorporated in the radiology service line total planning process to include preparation and review of monthly financial statements which would include evaluation of radiology service line fiscal status in relationship to its financial forecast.
Implementation of fiscal policies in accordance with the University’s Policies and Procedures.
Develops an accountable annual capital, operational and labor budget; meeting/exceeding goals. Maintains sound accounting and financial stability by reviewing and approving the reconciliation of accounts and expenditure control.
Conducts project costs analysis and costs benefits analysis with recommendations for program continuance, modification or termination.
Prepares in depth analysis of equipment needs and purchases including financial projections and ROI. Reviews equipment purchase contracts and follows through to successful installation.
Maintains and improves radiology business procedures, purchasing procurement and inventory control systems.
Compiles and submits to hospital leadership monthly statistics of variance and trend analysis of patient care, volumes and financial activities.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of Current ImagingTechnology Practice.
Ability to plan, direct, and coordinate the work of professional and technical staff in a manner conducive to maintenance of high technical standards, efficiency, and performance.
Capability to exercise judgment and discretion in devising, installing and interpreting rules, regulations, policies or procedures.
Skillful to express ideas and information, clearly, concisely, verbally and writing.
Aptitude to establish and maintain effective working relationship with subordinates, superiors, and officials of other departments.
Education Requirements (Essential Requirements):
Bachelor's degree required or equivalent work experience.
Master’s degree preferred
Certified Imaging Professional
Work Experience Requirements (Essential Requirements):
Five years of supervisory experience required.
10 years technical experience.
