Position Summary:
The Director of Human Resources – Retail (Stores & Upper Field Support) serves as a strategic business partner to retail leadership, driving people strategies that support store performance, employee engagement, and organizational growth across a multi-country footprint. The Director works closely with the GVP, Head of Stores, and Store Operations team to align HR strategies with business priorities and operational execution. The role leads and develops a team of HR Business Partners supporting stores across the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico, ensuring a consistent and high-impact HR approach across all regions. This leader oversees talent management, employee relations, workforce planning, and compliance, and serves as a trusted advisor to senior field leaders to enhance operational effectiveness and the employee experience.

Key Accountabilities
- Partner closely with the GVP, Head of Stores, and Store Operations team to develop and execute HR strategies that drive sales, productivity, and customer experience
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of HR Business Partners supporting retail field organizations across the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico
- Drive talent management initiatives including succession planning, leadership development, and performance management for store and field leadership
- Provide strategic guidance on organizational design, workforce planning, and change management across a multi-region retail structure
- Oversee employee relations strategy, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies while mitigating risk across jurisdictions
- Analyze HR metrics and retail KPIs to identify trends and deliver actionable insights to senior leadership
- Champion culture and engagement initiatives that improve retention and team effectiveness across stores
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, provincial, and local labor laws and company policies
- Partner with Talent Acquisition and Learning teams to support hiring, onboarding, and development of store and field leaders
- Support and advance diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives across the retail organization
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience, with significant focus in retail or multi-unit environments
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing HR teams or HR Business Partners
- Experience supporting large, geographically dispersed populations across multiple regions or countries
- Proven ability to influence senior leaders, including heads of retail or store operations
- Strong track record of driving talent and organizational strategies in a fast-paced retail environment
