We are seeking a Director of Consumer Insights to provide leadership coverage during a maternity leave period. This role serves as a key strategic partner to the business, responsible for elevating consumer understanding across a diverse portfolio of consumer packaged goods (CPG) categories.
Director, Consumer Insights (Maternity Leave Coverage)

This individual will play a critical role in shaping how consumer insights inform business strategy, brand development, and portfolio decisions. The role partners closely with senior leaders across Marketing and cross-functional teams to ensure decisions are rooted in deep consumer understanding.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the senior insights lead across multiple CPG businesses and brands
- Partner with Marketing and senior leadership to influence strategic direction and key decisions
- Translate complex consumer, market, and behavioral data into clear, compelling business insights
- Lead and develop a small insights team (approx. 3 direct reports), focusing on prioritization and capability building
- Define and align a forward-looking consumer learning agenda across brands and categories
- Integrate custom research and syndicated data to address critical business questions
- Drive a shift toward scalable, repeatable insights approaches while maintaining rigor in foundational research
- Ensure strong stakeholder alignment around the most impactful consumer opportunities
- Act as a connector between data, insights, and business strategy—ensuring insights translate into action

Qualifications
- Significant experience in consumer insights, market research, or strategy within CPG
- Proven success leading and developing high-performing teams
- Strong executive presence with experience influencing senior stakeholders
- Deep expertise across qualitative, quantitative, syndicated, and behavioral research methods
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex data into clear strategic recommendations
- Experience with tools such as NielsenIQ, Circana/IRI, Numerator, and social listening platforms preferred
- Experience across food, beverage, household goods, or broader CPG categories strongly preferred
