Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University and the Bruce & Robbi Toll Heart and Vascular Institute (HVI) at Jefferson Health are seeking a distinguished Interventional Cardiologist to serve as Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and Interventional Cardiology Section within the Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiology.

This is a senior academic leadership opportunity for an accomplished physician with expertise in complex coronary intervention, structural heart disease, and mechanical circulatory support, and a strong track record of clinical excellence, program development, and academic achievement.

Leadership Opportunity

The Director will provide strategic, clinical, and operational leadership for interventional cardiology services within a nationally recognized academic medical center. This individual will play a key role in advancing clinical quality, innovation, research, and education, while expanding and strengthening advanced interventional programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all aspects of cardiac catheterization laboratory operations and interventional cardiology services
• Drive program growth and innovation in complex coronary and structural heart interventions
• Ensure excellence in clinical quality, patient safety, and outcomes, with adherence to key performance metrics
• Optimize workflow, staffing, and resource utilization in partnership with nursing and administrative leadership
• Collaborate with institutional leadership to align divisional goals with the strategic vision of the Heart and Vascular Institute
• Maintain an active and productive clinical practice
• Lead and support clinical research initiatives, trials, and academic scholarship
• Mentor and teach medical students, residents, and fellows

This position reports directly to the Chief of Cardiology and Deputy Director of the HVI.

• Join a team of 50+ full-time academic cardiologists in a rapidly expanding multidisciplinary program
• Comprehensive cardiovascular services including:
• Structural and interventional cardiology
• Electrophysiology
• Advanced heart failure and transplant
• Cardio-oncology, cardio-obstetrics
• Specialized amyloidosis and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy programs
• Practice within Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, a flagship academic center within the Jefferson Health network

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited institution
• Board certified in Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology
• Eligible for medical licensure in Pennsylvania
• Minimum of 10+ years of clinical experience in interventional cardiology, including advanced coronary and structural procedures
• Demonstrated leadership experience in a cath lab or interventional program preferred
• Proven record of clinical excellence, program development, and academic achievement
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Academic rank at Associate or Full Professor commensurate with experience
