Director, Adolescent Medicine - SMS-3790 (15% FTE)

This is a part-time (15%) academic position in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Pediatric Primary Care. This Assistant/Associate Professor of Clinical Pediatrics directs the Adolescent Medicine Program as part of the Pediatric Residency Program.

Teaching
1. Supervise residents directly assigned during inpatient adolescent consultations, ambulatory clinics held at clinical office and during other outpatient clinical experiences supervised.
2. Deliver eight (8) one-hour presentations on Adolescent Medicine to the residents during regularly scheduled noonday conferences.
Administration
Responsibilities include coordinating all aspects of the adolescent medicine training program for credentialing and accreditation.
1. Direct and oversee all activities of the pediatric residents during one-month block rotations in adolescent medicine including attendance at educational conferences, participation at inpatient rounds and consultations, ambulatory clinics, community health programs, and other outpatient clinical experiences.

Required Qualifications
• Sensitive to the needs of underrepresented minority populations
• MD or equivalent degree
• Dual board certified in General Pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics and Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine or board certified in Adolescent Medicine
• Licensure in the State of Illinois

The budgeted annual salary range is $25,000 to $27,500, representing the academic base salary only, which is funded through the University. The final academic base salary will be determined by a thorough assessment of available market data, internal salary equity, candidate experience and qualifications, and budget considerations. Additional clinical compensation will be provided separately through a member practice agreement.
