Our client is a proprietary asset managerr, they are seeking a Diligence Associate/ Manager to support its Whole Loan Residential platform. This role sits within a high-performing team responsible for evaluating and managing portfolios across non-performing, re-performing, and non-QM residential mortgage assets.
You will have strong underwriting experience in Non QM or QA experience to transition into a loan-level diligence role within a sophisticated investment environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform detailed loan file reviews to validate completeness, accuracy, and compliance across credit, income, asset, appraisal, and title documentation
- Partner with third-party review firms to track diligence progress, resolve exceptions, and support rebuttal processes
- Analyze non-QM loans, including bank statement, P&L, and DSCR methodologies, against internal investment guidelines
- Support reporting efforts, including diligence pipeline tracking, status updates, and performance metrics for senior leadership
- Maintain accurate data input across internal systems, including asset management platforms and loan systems
- Assist with data aggregation and documentation in support of securitization and capital markets activity
Qualifications
- 3+years of experience in mortgage underwriting, loan processing, or quality assurance; secondary market or diligence exposure preferred
- Foundational understanding of credit analysis, including the four Cs (credit, capacity, capital, collateral)
- Exposure to non-QM or non-agency lending products strongly preferred
- Advanced Excel skills, including v-lookups, pivot tables, and data manipulation
- Experience with AUS systems (Desktop Underwriter or Loan Prospector) is a plus
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify inconsistencies across complex loan files
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field
