Job Overview:
As a Senior Digital Forensics Consultant in our Digital Forensics practice, you will lead and execute complex digital forensic investigations, manage multiple concurrent client engagements, and serve as a key point of contact for clients and legal teams. This role requires advanced technical expertise, strong judgment, and the ability to clearly communicate complex findings through written reports, presentations, and direct client interaction.
You will be responsible for overseeing forensic processes from evidence collection through reporting, ensuring adherence to forensically sound methodologies and internal standards. In addition, you will play a leadership role within engagements by mentoring junior team members, contributing to process improvements, and supporting practice development initiatives.
This position requires a balance of deep technical capability, strong client service skills, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, multi-engagement environment across geographically distributed teams.
Responsibilities:
Lead digital forensic investigations across multiple concurrent engagements, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery.
Serve as a primary or secondary point of contact for clients, legal teams, and internal stakeholders
Conduct advanced forensic examinations on computers, mobile devices, cloud environments, and other digital media
Oversee evidence intake, management, and return while maintaining strict chain of custody protocols
Ensure all forensic work is performed in accordance with established processes, procedures, and industry standards
Prepare and review detailed forensic reports, presentations, and supporting documentation for internal and external stakeholders
Communicate complex technical findings clearly and effectively to non-technical audiences
Support or participate in expert witness testimony and litigation support activities, as applicable
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, including reviewing work product and supporting development
Collaborate effectively with team members across multiple geographic locations
Identify and escalate risks, issues, or inconsistencies within engagements
Contribute to process improvements, SOP development, and practice initiatives
Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and forensic methodologies
Complete required training, certifications, and continuing education
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems, Digital Forensics) is required.
Demonstrated experience in digital forensics consulting, including working with law firms, corporate legal teams, or consulting environments
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts
Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Experience preparing detailed forensic reports suitable for legal or investigative use
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with clients and team members
Ability to work independently with limited supervision while exercising sound judgment
Experience working in teams distributed across multiple geographies
Professional demeanor and strong client service orientation
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior digital forensics consulting experience supporting law firms or corporate legal departments
Experience providing or supporting expert witness testimony in legal proceedings
One or more industry-standard forensic certifications such as:
Certified Forensic Computer Examiner (CFCE)
GIAC Certified Forensic Examiner (GCFE)
EnCase Certified Examiner (EnCE)
AccessData Certified Examiner (ACE)
Certified Computer Examiner (CCE)
Other EC-Council, ISACA, (ISC)², or GIAC certifications
Experience with computer networking, data security, and computer hardware.
Experience with scripting (e.g., Python or similar languages)

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Crowe, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
