Dietitian Clinical Specialist 2 Job Responsibilities:
- The Dietitian Clinical Specialist 2 provides safe and therapeutic nutritional care in a comprehensive and systematic manner.
- Incorporates differences into the provision of care by integrating knowledge, skills and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families throughout the continuum of care.
- Acts as a resource to physicians, nurses and other allied professional healthcare team members to provide patients with optimum nutritional care.
- Provides nutrition education to patients, families and hospital staff.
- May perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Experience: Four years of experience as an RDN with one year of experience in a specialty area such as ICU or Oncology.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree minimum if licensed before 1/1/2024; Dietitians registered after 1/1/2024 must hold a master’s degree
- Certification:
- Basic Life Support from American Heart Association required within 3 Months of hire
- Registered Dietitian (RD) required upon start
- One of the following certifications is required upon start:
- Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC)
- Certified Specialist in Oncology Nutrition (CSO)
- Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES)
- Certified Specialist in Pediatric Nutrition (CSP)
- Certified Specialist in Pediatric Critical Care Nutrition (CSPCC)
- Certified Specialist in Renal Nutrition (CSR)
- Certified Specialist in Gerontological Nutrition (CSG)
- Certified Specialist in Obesity and Weight Management (CSOWM)
- Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD)
- Registered Dietitian Nutritionist – Advanced Practitioner (RDN‑AP)
