Description:

Position Purpose:

Performs a variety of manual and clerical duties relating to the receiving, storage, and distribution of all products used by the Nutrition Department. Assists in the ordering and inventory taking functions of the department.

What you will do:

  • Receives all incoming food and non-food products delivered to the Nutrition department, verifying weights, counts, and quality of product. Checks delivery invoices against orders to assure that all items ordered were received.

  • Stores all products in appropriate areas ASAP in order to maintain food quality and wholesomeness and in accordance with accepted rotation practices.

  • Maintains sanitation and organization of all storage areas.

  • Completes dry goods orders including paper products as required by ordering schedules using standard par order forms and entering on the computer order system when appropriate. Assists in the physical inventory process as required.

  • Fills order requests from other departments as needed.

Working Conditions:

  • Constant lifting of heavy items weighing up to 80 lbs. required.

  • Operate a Hydolic Jack

  • Consistent reaching, turning, twisting, and pushing and pulling of pallets of product with pallet jack required.

  • Working in refrigerated walk-ins and freezers required on a daily basis.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires the ability to read and write English and perform simple math.

  • Six months experience in a food service receiving type position required.

  • Ability to operate food service scales and pallet jacks. Ability to evaluate product quality.

  • Ability to organize and maintain a FIFO food rotation system.

Pay Range: $17.00-$21.80

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
