Changing and setting molds to a production schedule
Make minor molding repairs and equipment adjustments through the shift
Inspect and maintain the condition of the molds, tooling equipment, assembly or secondary equipment and fixtures before, during and after the run to ensure product meets quality standards and issue a work order to have the tool worked on if there are any issues that arise
Provide recommendations and technical input into the development of new processes or molds
Responsible for producing quality product in their designated areas of responsibility
Inspect first and last pcs prior to submitting to quality and sign as required per procedure
Identify and recommend any continuous improvements that could help achieve quick tool changes or improve other processes
Operation of the overhead crane in a safe and timely manner
Maintain housekeeping in the pump room, tool storage locations, tool box locations, and your direct work locations including machines after being worked on or set and including spills or leaks
Verify job set sheets to the program running as required
Verify grades of resin/colorant to the OPC and log material grade, lot # and box # on the production report and/or tablet on the Tool Change Over Parameter Form
Follow all Purging, color change, colorant or calibration, start-up, and first or last pc procedures as required
Conduct tool changeovers as directed per schedule and document on Form F-0308 once completed as a verification process
Assist in monitoring scrap levels in your designated area and help maintain a stable process
Understand the quality system as it relates to your function in ISO/IATF 16949
Must work to all safety policies and goals of the company
Maintain and wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as required
Perform all other duties as the company may required
Requirements
Qualifications:
High school diploma or G.E.D. (ability to read and minimal mathematics)
Minimum 1 year experience with injection molding
Must have the basic tools required to perform the job
Strong understanding of plastics (preferred)
Knowledge of Mitsubishi injection molding machines 75 ton and up (preferred)
Basic computer skills – school/off site training may be required (preferred)
Ability to work independently with limited supervision
Ability to communicate well with others and maintain a positive attitude
Some trouble shooting abilities are required
Ability to lift up to 55 LBS
Must be able to pass a written and driving forklift test
Must know how to read receiving labels and know how to verify them
Attendance must be in good standing
Must be able to work multiple shifts and overtime as needed to meet internal and customer requirements
Must complete a new employee orientation (if applicable)
