DevOps Automation Engineer- Ansible

TEKsystems
Chandler, AZ

Description

***Position Summary / Comments***

•This role is part of a large scale, multi year enterprise automation initiative at our client, supporting the build, governance, and modernization of automation platforms across the organization. There are 11 total openings, all requiring a common core skillset, with work aligned to two strategic efforts:

oProcess & Control Engineering (4 roles) aligned to ongoing enterprise process initiatives

oBladeLogic to Ansible Automation Platform Migration (7 roles) aligned to the enterprise automation transformation

•All roles will be part of a dynamic engineering team responsible for building, enhancing, and governing the Ansible Automation Platform and related automation and orchestration technologies.

•Consultants will serve as seasoned, hands on technical contributors responsible for complex engineering and analytical tasks. The role focuses on taking defined requirements and converting them into practical, scalable automation and process solutions rather than full stack software development.

•For the Process & Control Engineering alignment, initial responsibilities include assessing approximately ten (10) enterprise controls across four automation and orchestration tools (Ansible Automation Platform, BladeLogic, TrueSight Server Orchestrator, and Cutover) to identify existing coverage, gaps, and remediation strategies.

•For the BladeLogic to Ansible migration alignment, responsibilities initially focus on stakeholder communication, fact finding, environment discovery, and identifying current integrations. Consultants will contribute to the migration strategy for a highly distributed landscape of approximately 3,000–4,000 independent tenants, including transition planning, communication models, and execution strategy. The full migration effort is expected to formally kick off in January.

•Across both alignments, consultants will:

oParticipate in the design, development, and implementation of systems engineering and automation solutions

oDevelop and maintain automation content, shared catalogs, and platform controls

oImplement and follow SDLC practices for automation content and platform configuration

oAssist with defining input/output processes, system integration, and subsystem coordination

oApply security safeguards and risk barriers within automation and platform designs

oEvaluate platforms and applications across the enterprise portfolio to promote alignment and reuse

•The role does not include direct people management responsibilities; however, individuals are expected to influence teams, contribute to special initiatives, and provide input related to staffing, priorities, and planning.

•This is a multi year engagement, and high performing consultants are expected to be considered for full time conversion.

•Interview process consists of one video interview with the team.
