JOB SUMMARY: The Development Officer is a full-time, benefited position with the LCCC Foundation responsible for cultivating and stewarding relationships with individuals, businesses, organizations and alumni to support the College’s fundraising priorities. This role emphasizes donor relations, community engagement, and the coordination of Foundation events and activities, that help to promote the LCCC Foundation and/or the College. The Development Officer will collaborate with College departments and staff to plan,support and implement development and stewardship activities and engagement opportunities. Key responsibilities include identifying and qualifying prospective donors, cultivating and soliciting gifts, developing strategies for consistent giving, and ensuring effective stewardship to foster long-term partnerships. The position also contributes to Foundation communications, materials, and outreach efforts that enhance community awareness and advance philanthropic support for the Foundation and College.

This portion of the role focuses on managing, facilitating, and growing key LCCC Foundation programs while fostering donor relationships and ensuring alignment with college priorities.- Manage, facilitate, and strategically develop major Foundation programs.
- Oversee scholarship initiatives, annual fundraising campaigns, cultural events, and other engagement activities.
- Maintain ongoing, meaningful communication with donors to support stewardship and longterm engagement.
- Collaborate with departments across campus to ensure programs align with development priorities and the college’s mission.
- Evaluate program performance and recommend improvements to enhance impact and donor satisfaction.
Focus on developing and sustaining meaningful relationships with both new and existing donors through consistent, strategic stewardship practices.- Build and maintain strong relationships with donors through regular, personalized communication.
- Implement effective stewardship strategies that encourage ongoing engagement and sustained giving.
- Track stewardship activities to ensure timely followup, acknowledgment, and donor recognition.
- Identify opportunities to deepen donor involvement and strengthen longterm commitment to the college.
- Collaborate with Foundation and campus partners to ensure a cohesive and donorfocused stewardship approach.
Support the execution of various giving programs by increasing donor participation and overall contributions through coordinated internal and external fundraising efforts.- Assist with planning, implementing, and evaluating giving programs and fundraising campaigns.
- Support efforts to increase donor participation and grow total contributions across various campaigns.
- Coordinate with campus partners and external stakeholders to promote giving opportunities.
- Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of donor engagement and campaign results.
- Provide logistical and administrative support to ensure timely fulfillment of giving program commitments.
Enhances the college’s visibility by representing the institution and Foundation at community events and activities.- Attend community events, meetings, and functions on behalf of the Foundation and the college.
- Serve as an ambassador to strengthen community awareness and support for Foundation initiatives.
- Build positive relationships with community partners and prospective supporters.
- Share information about Foundation programs and opportunities for engagement.
- Identify potential connections or opportunities that can advance the Foundation’s outreach goals.
Other tasks may be assigned based on contemporary institutional needs.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:Knowledge- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Knowledge of cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies and techniques, particularly in foundation fundraising techniques.
Skills- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and networking skills with large groups as well as with individuals
- Advanced working knowledge and ability with personal computing applications – specifically Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint), Adobe products (e.g., Reader, Professional), as well as database management systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge).
- Excellent communication and service skills. The ability to communicate clearly with a variety of people, in one-to-one and small group setting – either face-to-face, by telephone, or by other electronic means – ability to communicate and write in a clear and informative manner, effectively listen, and be able to handle escalating situation with concern and confidence.
Abilities- Demonstrated ability to create written and verbal proposals.
- Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism in all circumstances.
- Demonstrated ability to take primary responsibility for diverse number of projects and to complete them in a timely manner with limited supervision.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:- There may be occurrences of interacting with employees and/or students, past employees and/or students, members of the general public, and others who express opinions, may exhibit strong emotions, which will require the employee to interact professionally, diplomatically, and appropriately in such situations
- While performing the essential duties of this position, an employee would frequently be required to move around the assigned work areas as well as within hallways, meeting rooms, and other parts of the campus facilities
- There may be multiple/daily instances of prolonged sitting, standing, and personal computer use, which would include keyboard and/or mouse usage as well as viewing a computer monitor
- An employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus
- The overall work environment requires the mental ability to shift focal point quickly due to interruptions; an employee must be able to mentally track multiple projects and tasking as well

Minimum Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Three years of full-time work experience in a professional environment.
- Two years of experience in marketing, sales, or a related field.
- Valid Driver’s License and meet eligibility requirements to be insured under the College’s insurance provider.
Preferred Qualifications:- Two years of experience in donor development, public relations, or non-profit work.
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Marketing, Business, or a related field of study.
