POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director of Development, the Development Coordinator will assist the DFSA team with fundraising campaigns; communicate with current and prospective donors; research and retain new donors; and focus on relationship building with individuals, foundations, giving circles, and corporations through special events cultivation, sponsorships, and other development activities.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Database
- Track and record donations in database
- Reconcile donations monthly between Quickbooks and CRM
- Maintain updated, accurate information in the donor database and create donor reports as needed
- Build forms and reporting mechanisms in database
- Work with Communications Manager on campaigns and ensure accurate and appropriate recognition of donors, corporations, and civic organizations
Corporate
- Participate in corporate calls with Director of Development (DoD) and send follow-up information
- Speak at Lunch & Learn events, as needed
- Communicate with Corp Volunteer Groups re. sustainability and needs.
- Lead volunteer groups in coordination with Volunteer Manager and Inventory Coordinator as needed
- Assist with planning and setting up Toast & Tour sessions and/or similar events that Development oversees as needed
- Seek out and secure third party events that benefit DFSA
- Develop and seek sponsorship opportunities for events and programs
Grants
- Maintain grant calendar and distribute grant applications by collaborating with DoD
- Research new grant opportunities and propose to DoD and Executive Director
- Create and maintain grant documentation in database, including calendar reminders for reporting
Events (Spring/Fall)
- Assist in planning fundraising events
- Seek financial support from new prospects, procure raffle/auction items, sponsors, table sales, and assist in preparations for events as needed
- Attend committee meetings and manage registration software and financial reconciliation/Manage HelloFund campaigns
- Create sponsorship invoices and follow up
- Act as day-of contact for events
- Post-event follow-up, evaluation, and recognition for all events
Donor Relations Pipeline
- Handle pre- and post-attendee communications for monthly Toast & Tours
- Oversee SHINE, our monthly giving program, including identification, cultivation, and solicitation of major donors
- Assist with development campaigns and campaign logistics for fundraising
- Conduct research with current and prospective corporations, sponsors, and individual donors throughout the greater community
- Forge independent relationships, build networks, and maintain individual portfolio
- Occasionally represent the organization at various networking groups, community events, and functions, which will involve some evening and weekend work.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Educational
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Communications, or a related field
Abilities & Skills
- Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, including G Suite, as well as familiarity with email marketing software and database platforms
- Skilled at verbal and written communication
- Ability to proofread grants, newsletters, and marketing materials
- Strong organization and planning skills
- Proactive problem-solver and effective at creating systems
- Comfortable with enforcing policies and setting boundaries
- Maintains a professional and positive demeanor
- Ability to work with diverse groups of people, showing respect and empathy for all
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively
