Job Description

The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for designing new features for a premium dishwasher brand. This role involves designing and developing components and systems, utilizing fluid mechanics and heat transfer principles to enhance performance and efficiency while ensuring regulatory compliance. The position requires a balance of hands-on design work and testing, with approximately 50% of time dedicated to each.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new components and systems for dishwashers.
• Apply fluid mechanics and heat transfer principles to improve performance and efficiency.
• Ensure designs meet regulatory requirements.
• Conduct hands-on testing to validate design feasibility and functionality.
• Collaborate with a team of designers and engineers on new product development and sustaining design projects.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in SolidWorks.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including fluid mechanics and heat transfer.
• Experience with sheet metal and hydraulic systems design.
• Knowledge of thermodynamics systems.
• Competence in finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD).
• Hands-on experience with testing fixtures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in appliance design, preferably with dishwashers or similar industry.
• 3+ years of experience in SolidWorks design and new product development.
• Experience in the design and testing of hydraulic and thermodynamics systems.

Work Environment

The role is onsite, within a department comprising 50 team members, including designers and engineers, who support all product lines. The department focuses on both new product development (NPD) and sustaining design projects.

This is a Permanent position based out of Fitchburg, WI.

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
