DERMS IT System Engineer

⚡ We’re Hiring! Expert DERMS IT System Engineer (Contract) – Hybrid in Oakland ⚡

Are you an expert in grid technology and hybrid cloud environments?

We are looking for a highly skilled IT System Engineer to join our team and support our Gas and Electric Control Centers. In this crucial role, you will lead the commissioning and interoperability of 2030.5 field devices and provide vital Level 1 support for our Distributed Energy Resource Management System (DERMS) platform.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Commissioning & Interoperability: Oversee schedule execution for Grid DERMS Flex Connect sites, coordinating with distribution engineers, SCADA specialists, and vendors (like Schneider Electric) to ensure seamless site system testing and implementation.
• Maintenance & L1 Support: Serve as the primary tech support for the DERMS platform. You’ll troubleshoot issues, deploy vendor application updates, and manage data refreshes for production and non-production environments.
• System Integrations: Operate and maintain critical API integrations, including DERMS Exporter, Weather/GIS/ADMS APIs, Apigee Gateway, and ESFT.

What You Need to Succeed (Minimum):

• BA/BS in Computer Science, Business, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of IT experience with enterprise software application platforms.
• Deep expertise with the 2030.5 protocol and DER field devices.
• Strong experience operating Hybrid Cloud environments.
• Experience managing application certificates, authentication, and TLS using PKI.
• API integration experience (REST API, ESFT, MuleSoft CloudHub, Apigee).

Bonus Points If You Have:

• 2–5 years in the electric utility sector (distribution/transmission).
• Familiarity with SCADA, OMS, DMS, CYME, GIS, or OSISoft PI.
• Azure Fundamentals cloud certification.
