EXECUTIVE SERVICE

The Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) owns, operates, and maintains eight major toll facilities comprised of four bridges, two tunnels, and two turnpikes, across the State of Maryland. Nature of Work: The MDTA is seeking a dynamic, results-driven leader for the position of Deputy Director of Title VI and Title VII Programs for the Division of Civil Rights and Fair Practices (CRFP) who will support the Director of CRFP by providing managerial oversight, supervision, and guidance to staff in the completion of the reports and program activities
This position has oversight of and proactively influences all aspects of the agency’s Fair Practice programs including the Title VI, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO)/Title VII, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), Minority Business Enterprise (MBE), Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE), Veteran-Owned Small Business Enterprise (VSBE), and Small Business Reserve (SBR) programs. The Deputy Director of CRFP provides managerial oversight, supervision, and guidance to staff in the completion of reports and program activities required to ensure compliance with federal and state statutes, regulations, and Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) policies.

The selected candidate will report directly to the Director of CRFP. The position is located in Baltimore, Maryland. Hybrid telework schedules may be available for this position.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Certification as a Certified Compliance Administrator (CCA) or Master Compliance Administrator (MCA) is preferred.
Experience:Six years of experience in administrative or professional work. Three years of demonstrated experience in fair practice program management.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate strong transformational leadership, a commitment to effective collaboration, the ability to build trust across an organization, and the experience and skills to inspire, motivate, and communicate with CRFP staff and other internal and external partners, including but not limited to the Division of Procurement, the Office of Engineering and Construction, legislative committees, as well as federal, state and local officials.

1. Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to four years of the required experience.
2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and two years of experience in administrative staff or professional work for the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master's degree from an accredited college or university and one year of experience in administrative staff or professional work for the required experience.
4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policies, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher-ranking commissioned officer on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
Employees in this classification will be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Applicants are required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland. Applicants must list the license number and date of expiration on the application.
