Deputy Collections Manager*

The Orange County Tax Administration Offices has an opening for a Deputy Collections Manager. Under the general supervision of the Revenue Collections Manager, an employee of this class is primarily responsible for collecting property taxes, managing the tax collector's cashiering area, supervising collection activities and supervision of the Revenue Technicians I, II and III. An employee in this classification typically provides guidance and leadership on enforced collection actions such as tax foreclosures and other enforced collection actions. An employee in this class will exercise independent judgment and will take legal action in order to collect delinquent accounts within the guidelines of established Tax Administration standard operating procedures and State and Local ordinances. Position is responsible for supervision. Does related work as required.

MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university in Paralegal Technology, Accounting, Business Administration AND five (5) years combined experience in collections;OR

An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined above. A higher degree does not substitute for work experience.

Ability to take an Oath of Office every two years, in accordance with NC General Statute 105-349(f); and NC Tax Collector's Association certified Deputy Collector certification within two years of hire.

Valid North Carolina Driver's License.
