This Opportunity

The Deputy Asset Delivery Manager/Submarine Lead will support the oversight, planning, coordination, and execution of submarine cable installation and associated marine construction and survey activities. The role requires strong experience in submarine cable engineering, offshore and nearshore installation methods, marine surveying, and construction interface management. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership across design support, constructability review, installation readiness, offshore execution, and project close out. Preference will be given to candidates with experience supporting EM&CP related activities and familiarity with New York State regulatory, environmental, and permitting requirements applicable to submarine cable and landfall works.

Your Impact

  • Provide technical leadership and support for submarine cable installation, burial, protection, landfall, pull-in, jointing interfaces, and post-installation activities.
  • Review and support the development of construction methodologies, installation procedures, work packs, inspection and test plans, lift plans, risk assessments, and contingency procedures.
  • Support route engineering and constructability reviews using marine survey, geophysical, hydrographic, bathymetric, and geotechnical data.
  • Review and support marine survey requirements for pre-installation, installation support, as-laid, burial verification, and post-installation surveys.
  • Support installation methodology development, burial strategy, landfall works, and cable protection measures.
  • Review vessel spreads, subsea tooling, burial equipment, and marine construction assets for technical suitability and operational readiness.
  • Provide technical support during offshore and nearshore construction execution.
  • Manage interfaces among construction contractors, survey teams, suppliers, and client representatives.
  • Review and validate pre-installation, installation, as-laid, burial verification, and post-installation survey data.
  • Support compliance with project specifications, quality requirements, health and safety procedures, environmental commitments, and permit conditions.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 12+ years of relevant post-education experience in construction management or related areas.
  • Recognized subject mater expertise in marine construction, submarine cable engineering, and installation.
  • Experience with marine surveying and interpretation of survey data.
  • Deep knowledge of offshore construction methods, marine vessels, and subsea equipment.
  • Demonstrated leadership in developing construction execution plans, risk registers, and contingency strategies.
  • Experience providing executive guidance on project performance, metrics, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong mentorship skills and experience building technical talent pipelines in construction teams.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ethical practices, regulatory compliance, and organizational integrity.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across geographies, business lines, and client sectors to achieve integrated project delivery.
  • Must have a current and valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Construction Manager (CCM), PE, or equivalent credential.
  • Experience with EM&CP-related activities and New York State regulatory requirements
