Job Requirements POSITION SUMMARY
The Department Office Assistant Scheduler coordinates scheduling and administrative tasks to support radiology departmental operations. The Department Office Assistant Scheduler manages appointment scheduling, maintains records, assists with patient or staff inquiries, and ensures a efficient workflow while adhering to Health First policies, and procedures.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITES
- Processes and maintains all schedules for area of responsibility, runs schedules daily, and sends to appropriate departments and individuals in a timely manner.
- Communicates and documents accurate data to other departments and external physician offices as required, regarding schedule changes.
- Communicates effectively with customers (patients, LP, other Health First associates, the public, etc.) always using excellent customer relations skills.
- Occasionally assists with data entry into reports, creation and maintaining databases, spreadsheets, and other documents using a variety of software applications.
- Maintains a safe environment for patients/customers, team members and yourself.
- Follows all Federal, State and Regional healthcare regulations and adhere to the Joint Commission.
- Maintains flexibility, adapts to changes in workflow processes and the needs of the Health First organization based upon fluctuations in patient volume.
Work Experience MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Work Experience: None
- Licensure: None
- Certification: American Heart Association (AHA) HeartSaver CPR & AED Program completion card within thirty (30) days of start date and maintained.
- Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
- Typing skills required.
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
- Ability to use or operate computer, copy machine, and fax machine.
- Demonstrates effective time management and critical thinking skills.
- Able to work effectively and efficiently in a stressful work environment.
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Associate’s degree in relevant field.
- Work Experience:
- One (1) years of experience as administrative professional in a office, customer service, or patient care.
- One (1) year of experience in Healthcare environment or clerical role.
- Certified Administrative Professional.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) Healthcare Provider Completion Card prior to start date.
- Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: Basic computer skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Majority of time involves sitting or standing; occasional walking, bending, and stooping.
- Long periods of computer time or at workstation.
- Light work that may include lifting or moving objects up to 20 pounds with or without assistance.
- May be exposed to inside environments with varied temperatures, air quality, lighting and/or low to moderate noise.
- Communicating with others to exchange information.
- Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform tasks.
- Workspace may vary from open to confined.
- May require travel to various facilities within and beyond county perimeter; may require use of personal vehicle.
