Shift: Day Shift | 5x8 Hours (Mon–Thu: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM | Fri: 7:30 AM – 12:30 PM)

On-Call: No

Education

• Associate’s Degree in Dental Hygiene

Certifications

• Active Registered Dental Hygienist License (South Carolina)

Project Description

The Dental Hygienist will perform routine dental prophylaxis, support patient education, and assist in maintaining oral health standards in a clinical setting. This role also includes charting, radiography, and working within EMR systems while ensuring compliance with clinical protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform oral prophylaxis and remove deposits/stains from teeth
• Apply topical fluoride treatments
• Expose and develop dental radiographs
• Provide oral hygiene instructions and dietary counseling
• Review medical and dental history of patients
• Take and record vital signs (e.g., blood pressure)
• Chart dental conditions and update records in EMR (Epic Wisdom)
• Schedule and confirm patient appointments
• Assist in training dental hygiene students as needed

Required Skills & Experience

• Knowledge of dental hygiene practices and procedures
• Experience with radiographs and dental charting
• Familiarity with EMR systems (Epic Wisdom preferred)
• Strong patient education and communication skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Preferred Skills

• 1+ year of Dental Hygienist experience
• Experience in clinical or hospital-based dental settings
