DEA Compliance Assistant
Key Responsibilities
1. Order Review:
- Review and process controlled substance orders to ensure they meet regulatory and company requirements.
- Refer non-conforming orders or orders with red flags for further review.*
2. Customer Support:
- Assist customers with questions related to purchasing, order status, and CSOS.
- Provide guidance on CSOS and troubleshoot issues with electronic orders.
3. Recordkeeping:
- Maintain accurate records of controlled substance orders, including receipts, invoices, and shipping documents.
- Organize and file DEA 222 forms and other regulatory documentation.
4. Compliance Support:
- Assist with basic compliance tasks, such as tracking controlled substance cycle counts and preparing reports for internal audits.
- Support the Director of Controlled Substance in maintaining compliance with DEA and state regulations.
5. Communication:
- Serve as a point of contact for customers and internal teams regarding controlled substance orders.
- Relay compliance-related updates or changes to customers as directed by the compliance team.

Minimum Qualifications
1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification strongly preferred.
2. Experience: 3-5 years of experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting, with exposure to controlled substances. Candidates with experience in law enforcement and fraud detection are also encouraged to apply.
3. Knowledge:
- Basic understanding of DEA regulations and controlled substance ordering processes.
- Familiarity with CSOS and DEA 222 forms.
4. Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Proficiency with computer systems and software (e.g., order management systems, Microsoft Office).
- Ability to follow instructions and escalate issues appropriately.
