As part of our EY Digital Engineering team, you will help clients define and deliver cloud and AI-ready digital transformation strategies, enabling scalable, secure, and future-ready platforms. You will work closely with EY’s Digital, Cloud and Advanced Engineering practices, leveraging EY proprietary frameworks, accelerators, and assets to deliver high-impact outcomes for clients across industries.

We’re looking for an Associate Director – Cloud Infrastructure & AI Platform Engineering to join the leadership group of our EY Digital Engineering practice.

This is a senior leadership opportunity to:

• Own and scale the Cloud Infrastructure competency
• Enable AI-ready cloud platforms and landing zones
• Drive delivery excellence, innovation, and growth
• Build accelerators and reusable assets to enhance EY’s delivery capability

You will work closely with Partners, Practice Leads, and global teams, while being accountable for portfolio outcomes, capability maturity, and client success.

EY Digital Engineering is a unique, industry-focused business unit that provides a broad range of integrated services that leverage deep industry experience with strong functional capability and product knowledge. The Digital Engineering (DE) practice works with clients to analyse, formulate, design, mobilize and drive digital transformation initiatives. We advise clients on their most pressing digital challenges and opportunities surround business strategy, customer, growth, profit optimization, innovation, technology strategy, and digital transformation. We also have a unique ability to help our clients translate strategy into actionable technical design, and transformation planning/mobilization. Through our unique combination of competencies and solutions, EY’s DE team helps our clients sustain competitive advantage and profitability by developing strategies to stay ahead of the rapid pace of change and disruption and supporting the execution of complex transformations.

Your key responsibilities

Cloud Infrastructure & Platform Leadership

• Lead the Cloud Infrastructure & Platform Engineering competency across Azure, AWS, GCP, and Private Cloud.
• Own end-to-end accountability for cloud infrastructure delivery portfolios, including quality, consistency, and scalability.
• Provide leadership and direction to Architects, Senior Managers, and Engineering teams.
• Act as a senior escalation point for complex technical and delivery challenges.

Cloud & AI Platform Strategy

• Define and govern Cloud Landing Zone and AI-ready platform architectures aligned to enterprise, regulatory, and business requirements.
• Design reference architectures for:
• AI / GenAI-enabled landing zones
• Secure data and AI platform foundations
• Hybrid and multi-cloud connectivity
• Collaborate with Data, AI, and Application Modernization teams to enable AI adoption and platform readiness.

Architecture & Engineering Oversight

• Architect and review high-level and low-level designs for cloud infrastructure, network, security, and resilience.
• Assess existing on-premises and cloud environments and define target-state transformation roadmaps.
• Govern architecture standards for:
• Network, security, identity, and connectivity
• DR, BCP, and high-availability designs
• Cost optimization and performance engineering
• Ensure platforms are secure, scalable, resilient, and compliant.

Assets, Accelerators & Innovation

• Lead the creation and evolution of EY proprietary cloud and AI platform accelerators, including:
• Automated Cloud & AI Landing Zones
• Infrastructure-as-Code and policy frameworks
• Security, compliance, and governance assets
• Drive reuse and standardization to improve delivery speed, quality, and margins.
• Promote the use of automation and AI-assisted engineering to enhance delivery effectiveness.

Pre-Sales, RFPs & Growth

• Lead cloud infrastructure and platform solutioning for RFPs, proposals, and client pursuits.
• Define technical strategy, delivery approach, effort estimates, and commercials.
• Support account teams in identifying and shaping cloud and AI platform opportunities.
• Contribute to go-to-market offerings and practice growth initiatives.

Delivery Excellence & Governance

• Establish and enforce delivery standards, best practices, and governance frameworks.
• Ensure compliance with security, risk, regulatory, and audit requirements.
• Oversee cloud infrastructure onboarding, offboarding, operations, and decommissioning.
• Provide visibility on performance, cost, security posture, and SLA adherence.

To qualify for the role, you must have

Education & Experience

• B.E / B.Tech / M.Tech or Master’s in Computer Applications.
• 15+ years of industry experience in Cloud Infrastructure and Platform Engineering.
• Proven experience leading large-scale cloud transformation programs.

Technical Expertise

Strong expertise in:

• Azure / AWS / GCP Cloud Landing Zones
• Network, security, identity, and connectivity architectures
• DR, BCP, and high-availability solutions

Hands-on exposure to:

• Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, ARM, CloudFormation)
• Automation (Azure CLI, PowerShell, Ansible)
• Cloud governance and security platforms
• Solid understanding of AI platform infrastructure requirements, including compute, networking, and security considerations.

Certifications

• Cloud Architect Expert or Professional certification (Azure / AWS / GCP) – mandatory.
• Security, networking, or AI-related certifications are an added advantage.
