- Support integration between DCS platforms, PLCs, field instruments, analyzers, VFDs, skid systems, and third-party equipment.
- Assist with communication protocols such as Modbus, Ethernet/IP, OPC, Profibus, Foundation Fieldbus, or similar industrial networks.
- Troubleshoot control system issues related to logic, communications, I/O, alarms, instrumentation, and operator displays.
- Support loop checks, functional testing, commissioning, startup, and system validation activities.
- Coordinate with engineering, construction, instrumentation, electrical, process, and operations teams to resolve controls-related issues.
- Provide technical support during system upgrades, expansions, migrations, and troubleshooting events.
Documentation, Testing & Compliance
- Develop and maintain control system documentation, including logic diagrams, tag lists, I/O lists, alarm lists, graphics documentation, test records, and change logs.
- Support FAT, SAT, commissioning, startup, and acceptance testing for DCS and control system components.
- Assist with Management of Change documentation, redlines, as-builts, and system turnover packages.
- Ensure control system changes are properly documented, reviewed, tested, and approved before implementation.
- Support compliance with company standards, client specifications, safety requirements, and applicable industry codes.
- Identify opportunities to improve system reliability, alarm management, operator interface design, and control performance.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in DCS, SCADA, PLC controls, automation engineering, instrumentation, process control, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience configuring, supporting, or troubleshooting DCS or SCADA systems.
- Experience with Emerson DeltaV, Honeywell Experion, Yokogawa, Siemens PCS 7, Rockwell, AVEVA, or similar control platforms.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, control narratives, I/O lists, loop diagrams, electrical drawings, and engineering documentation.
- Experience with control logic, HMI graphics, alarm configuration, historian data, and system tag management.
- Working knowledge of PLCs, field instrumentation, process equipment, and industrial communication protocols.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for control system hardware, software, networking, and field device issues.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, construction, operations, vendors, and client teams.
