Under the direction of the HR Manager, the DC HR Business Partner (HRBP) for the distribution center works collaboratively with leadership to drive workforce performance, employee engagement, and operational excellence. This role provides hands-on HR support across a broad range of Human Resources activities, including employee engagement, performance management, recruitment and selection, employee relations, compensation, benefits, training, and special HR projects as assigned. The DC HRBP understands business needs and how HR can influence and enable the organization to meet key objectives. Acting as a trusted advisor, this role partners with leaders and HR Centers of Excellence to resolve workforce challenges, support talent development, and implement HR programs aligned with business goals.
Job Responsibilities:
Builds strong relationships with leaders and provides partnership to implement HR strategies, programs, and deliverables to the business.
Provides coaching and guidance pertaining to organizational policies and practices.
Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, regulations, and recommended best practices.
Conducts and/or supports the recruitment effort for all exempt and, nonexempt team members, and as well as contingent workers; conducts new-employee orientations; and monitors career-pathing program for continued growth.
Consults with managers and supervisors on absenteeism, turnover, and workforce data to help anticipate talent gaps.
Knowledgeable on the employee benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, 401K, etc. to assist team members with inquiries.
Attends facility meetings providing up-to-date information related to company news, changes and announcements. Streamline communication to the appropriate level for the most favorable adoption of new initiatives, policies, and concepts. Facilitates discussion, encourages feedback, and can provide timely resolution. Notifies management of ongoing concerns and trends.
Maintains employee records of employee attendance, leaves, disciplinary, new hire paperwork, etc. as required.
Continuously inspires a culture of celebration, appreciation, and recognition to drive engagement. Support the launch annual engagement survey, analyze results and partner with leadership to develop strategies to drive positive workforce.
Works independently in ambiguous situations; Makes sound judgment to analyze situations and make appropriate decisions and/or recommendations.
Participates in HR initiatives and special projects to support operational and organizational goals.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years’ experience with employee relations, staffing & selection, compensation & benefits and/or training OR High School/GED and experience with employee relations, staffing & selection, compensation & benefits and/or training.
Experience applying the knowledge of Federal, State, Labor and Employment laws, Workers’ compensation, FMLA, ADA and OSHA laws.
Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using SUM function, setting borders, setting column width, inserting charts, using text wrap, sorting, setting headers and footers and/or print scaling).
Intermediate level skill in Microsoft PowerPoint (for example: applying a theme, formatting character spacing, inserting a picture, changing slide layout and theme colors, adding transitions, customizing slide numbers, changing chart style and/or formatting font).
Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Word (for example: inserting headers, page breaks, page numbers and tables and/or adjusting table columns).
Willing to work a flexible schedule that may include working 2nd and 3rd shifts.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years human resources experience in employee relations, staffing & selection, compensation & benefits and/or training OR High School Diploma/GED and at least 5 years human resources experience in employee relations, staffing & selection, compensation & benefits and/or training
Experience with Labor Relations
Experience working in a distribution, manufacturing and/or production environments.
Experience using time management skills such as prioritizing/organizing and tracking details and meeting deadlines of multiple projects with varying completion dates.
