Overview
The Data Center Technician plays a key role in maintaining and supporting critical hardware infrastructure within a fast‑paced technical environment. This position focuses on diagnosing and resolving server and equipment issues, performing hands‑on hardware work, and collaborating closely with a broader technical operations team. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, follows detailed procedures, and continuously builds technical knowledge while supporting reliable data center operations.
You will contribute to operational stability by identifying hardware faults, carrying out repairs or component replacements, and documenting work through established processes. Team collaboration, adaptability, and clear communication are essential to success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and infrastructure-related issues across server and rack-based equipment
- Perform component swaps, repairs, and basic diagnostics on data center hardware
- Execute tasks independently while adhering to documented procedures and safety standards
- Utilize ticketing systems to track incidents and document work completed
- Collaborate with teammates to share knowledge and improve operational efficiency
- Follow direction accurately and respond constructively to feedback
- Maintain awareness of supported systems, tools, and operating environments
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ year of foundational experience with networking concepts, including TCP/IP
- 1+ year of familiarity with internal server or computer hardware components
- Hands-on experience replacing or repairing hardware parts
- Basic proficiency with Linux/Unix command-line tools
- Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively in a team setting
- Openness to feedback and demonstrated adaptability in a technical role
Education & Certifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Technical certifications are a plus (e.g., CompTIA or similar), but not required
