Title: Data Center Technician

Location: Boardman, OR

Duration: 6 months (05/11/2026 – 11/10/2026)

Pay Range: $25-28/hr. on W2


Job Description:

Support day-to-day operations within a large-scale data center environment by performing hardware installations, repairs, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities. Work closely with technical teams to ensure server, network, and infrastructure components operate efficiently and reliably. Assist with ticket resolution, equipment replacement, documentation, and adherence to security and operational procedures.

This role supports mission-critical infrastructure and requires candidates who are comfortable working in a fast-paced technical environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong troubleshooting skills, basic networking knowledge, and hands-on experience with computer or server hardware.


Job Functions:

  • Perform server and hardware installations, upgrades, replacements, and repairs.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, connectivity, and infrastructure-related issues within the data center environment.
  • Support basic network diagnostics and TCP/IP troubleshooting activities.
  • Utilize Linux/Unix command-line tools for system diagnostics and operational support.
  • Monitor and manage support tickets, ensuring timely documentation and issue resolution.
  • Follow established operational procedures, security protocols, and change management processes.
  • Assist with equipment audits, inventory tracking, and asset management activities.
  • Support power and cooling infrastructure awareness while maintaining operational best practices.
  • Collaborate with technicians, engineers, and operations teams to maintain system availability and performance.
  • Document troubleshooting activities, repairs, and maintenance procedures accurately.


Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of computer hardware, server components, and hardware troubleshooting.
  • Basic understanding of TCP/IP networking concepts and network connectivity.
  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix command-line environments.
  • Experience using ticketing systems and technical documentation tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
  • Commitment to safety, security, and operational excellence.


Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1+ year of experience supporting computer hardware, server infrastructure, IT support, or related technical environments.
  • Experience performing hardware repairs, replacements, and troubleshooting.
  • CompTIA certification or similar technical certification is preferred.


Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and work at heights for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in varying temperature conditions and data center environments.
  • Flexible availability required, including day, night, weekend, and holiday schedules as needed.
  • Potential for contract extension or conversion based on performance and business needs.
