Position: Database Administrator with ArcGIS Pro
Location: Hybrid – Pikesville, MD and remote (1-2 days onsite – subject to change as per client policy)
Job Role: This position is a technical role with the candidate having real experience in database management systems analysis and programming, application design, GIS-related database support, and end-user support. The candidate should be a highly skilled, dependable, and self-directed professional to support the design, administration, analysis, programming, and optimization of critical database systems; and should be able to work independently, manage priorities with minimal supervision, troubleshoot complex issues, and consistently deliver accurate, reliable results.
Important Note on Requirements: The General Experience and Specialized Experience mentioned below are a must. Candidate having Preferred Experience and Highly Desired Experience will be given more weightage. There will be two rounds of interview before a decision is made.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Perform senior-level database management systems analysis and programming
- Design, develop, maintain, and troubleshoot applications utilizing a variety of database management systems
- Support and work with current DBMS technologies, including DBMS internals
- Administer and support enterprise geodatabases
- Support enterprise geodatabase versioning workflows
- Perform spatial data design and maintenance
- Support GIS data publishing and GIS-related database workflows
- Integrate database solutions with ArcGIS Pro
- Support end users with software applications by troubleshooting issues and providing technical assistance
- Help ensure database reliability, accuracy, performance, and operational continuity
- Work independently with minimal supervision while managing assigned tasks and priorities effectively
REQUIREMENTS:
Education (must have):
A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or another related scientific or technical discipline, or three (3) years of equivalent experience in a related field, in addition to the experience requirements listed below.
General Experience (must have):
- Must have six (6) years of experience in database management systems (DBMS) analysis and programming.
Specialized Experience (must have):
- Must have at least three (3) years of experience using current DBMS technologies, including:
- application design utilizing various database management systems
- experience with DBMS internals
- experience working with SQL Server and Oracle
Preferred Qualifications (good to have):
- At least three (3) years of experience managing GIS-related DBMS. Specifically experience with:
- enterprise geodatabase administration
- enterprise geodatabase versioning
- spatial data design and maintenance
- GIS data publishing and support
- integration with ArcGIS Pro
- At least one (1) year of experience using ArcGIS Pro to create shapefiles and GeoPackages
- At least five (5) years of experience supporting end users with software applications
Highly Desired:
- Experience writing and troubleshooting JavaScript and/or other programming languages.
